We finally return to New Vegas as Logan's mind is whole again for the first time in many many years, yet a gap in his memory still remains. Why did he leave DC and why was he carrying the Platinum Chip that fateful night with Benny. There is but one answer to those questions and it shall lead Logan down a Lonesome Road.

I posted this as a response to Vincegalila earlier and felt that it was substantial enough to stand on its own as a comment about Logan's decision this episode. Naturally, once the big choice is made on who you're going to back, the viewership tends to fracture and divide. But that's besides the point. Logan's entire journey, from the moment he walked out of Vault 101, to the moment right before he pulled the trigger on House, has almost entirely been one where he's been doing what others have ordered him to do. He's been a puppet on strings, with the puppetmaster being someone different each time. Whether it was the Enclave and The Brotherhood, the NCR or Legion, Elijah, The Think Tank, House, it all boiled down to the same thing: infighting and conflict that he was inevitably wound up in, always ending with someone getting hurt or killed. Compared to Logan's Dawn and where we're at now, Logan is much more jaded by everything he's been through. In his eyes, these factions that all proclaim themselves to be the saviors of the wastes, the faction that will be able to pull things back to they way they were before, all do so at the cost of neglecting the little man. The survivors just trying to get by from day to day, the scavengers digging through Nuka Cola factories to gather enough bottles to sell in the hopes they can afford food, those raiders forced to rob and murder to sustain themselves. All those people who pass under the nose of all these big players because they're so focused on the grander scheme of things, a goal that is always, always just out of reach. To borrow a quote from the Fallout show: "Everyone wants to save the world, they just disagree on how." With eliminating Mr. House and coordinating with Yes-Man, Logan for the first time in ages has actually made a decision entirely of his own free will. The only other times I can think of that are him killing Dean in the Sierra Madre, and killing Desmond and the brain in the jar at the end of Point Lookout. I feel like, with everything we've seen over the last several years of this series, this was always going to be the ending path for him. He's seen all the people who are stepped on by the other factions, and decides he's finally going to try and do something about it. Now, whether that succeeds or fails remains to be seen.

Hell yeah. Nice call back at 36:22 Reference to when Logan got addicted to Hydra ages ago (I think it was Hydra if I'm remembering correctly). Logan's come a long way since then, I'm proud of him 💪😎

A fateful moment. On the one hand, like others have said, it's a big step for Logan's character, finally acting with agency and forging his own path. It's an important moment in his journey, and one that's been a long time coming. But on the other hand, there's also this palpable sense of tragedy and dramatic irony around the act from knowing where this leads. Logan kills Mr. House believing that he will be able to make a better future for the Mojave for it, because he isn't apathetic to the suffering of the masses, and won't ignore the little guy like the big players do. But assuming that you haven't changed your plans, and that Logan's Tale is still eventually going to lead to Dust, we know that he's doomed to fail, and that things are going to get almost comically worse for everyone from here on out. And with that context, it's hard not to see House's death here as the moment Logan inadvertently sealed the Mojave's fate. Vegas won't be reaching for the stars anymore. The Cloud is coming now.

@@oscarhampson9181 Apparently. At least, that's what Rycon said in the comments of an older video. Think it was one of the Akira episodes of Frost. I would guess that this is what "Logan's Night" is going to cover. Though obviously it would have to be its own AU using the Dust mod rather than literally the story and world of Dust, since Logan's Tale has already deviated from Dust's background lore in a few key ways.

Hello! I haven't seen this video yet but i have just discovered your channel and starting to watch a few of your series, love the work you do here it's so much more immersive and engaging to watch when played like this, but with all the extra work you do on top is commendable i'm surprised you don't have a much larger following!

Love the episode. Been thinking this was going to be his path. Of course, you've given away the plot for Logan's Night. It might have been in FO4, but now, we know it can only end in Fallout: Dust. He's going to end up fighting Raphael. Only Logan will lose, because Raph just keeps on drinking water, and his wounds just keep spitting out the knives and bullets embedded in them. The last thing Logan sees will be a spear flying at him.

@@900Hotchno shit, he did plenty of survival series before even touching the rp fallout 4 series. I want a rp if I wanted to watch gameplay I’d watch the 1000 of other content creators that have done the playthrough for dust but none have done a actual dedicated rp with the amount of work rycon puts in his rp series.

Love it, any ideas about revving up to capitalize on the show's success? Maybe some Ashes as well as Logan's Dusk?? :) A lot of work though... not an expectation just a curiosity. Everyone seems to be in a fallout fever since the show!

It may be a tad uncharitable to say this but it seems to me that Logan is just sick of other people telling them what to do, and wants to be in charge for a change. Like they haven't been in the Mojave for what years? Looking for Boone and Veronica after being shipped off to New Mexico by Dog, and effectively just passed though vegas on the way to the Divide and then on to Utah (in which they accomplished none of their goals) and they think they have the right to run a nation that they've mostly passed though? They have to be as arrogant as Mr. House

@@MinersLoveGames Name three times he followed order where it didn't end with his Employers dead. I can The Brotherhood on the East Coast, Three Dog, The Pitt (though the ringleaders of the Slave revolt may have been executed so that's a maybe) and the Brotherhood basically did nothing but help him, everything they asked him to do was something he already wanted to do, well besides die.

Logan is certainly arrogant but he can't just walk away this time, there are too many lives on the line. What he's trying to do from this point on is end the conflict with the least amount of death possible. The Legion should have a healthy amount of fear after Logan dropped a nuke on their camp. One that he was forced to redirect by Ulysses. House was always going to want to clear everyone out but with a firm hand he hopes to show the Legion and the NCR that Vegas makes it's own destiny. He legitimately wanted to work with House but he was unwilling to compromise. Logan has no intention to do this alone though

@@ryconroleplays I can accept wanting a degree of control over the situation, I just don't think a guy who's lost 50% of his followers, and gotten more than half his employers killed would make a good leader.

Eh I wouldn't mind a reboot some time in the far future. Where the Courier is a character independent of the LW. May give a chance for some of the Better Mods of New Vegas to shine.

Unfortunately I have to go with it too in my own RP New Vegas playthrough. My character has deep relations with the East Coast BoS and I can't progress with Mr. House if I don't destroy the NV BoS chapter. I'm probably going to doom the Mojave to the fate of DUST because in my story my character is supposed to go back east for the final Fallout 4 playthrough. Still figuring out how I should play the DLCs to make it all sense.

@@OddysChannel well for fallout 4, the whole "Sean" thing kind of ruins all opportunities at connecting characters from across the games, but what i do is say my character was kidnapped by the institute, had his memories repressed, and then put in vault 111 as a experiment, to see how someone with 0 knowledge of the outside world would react. It sucks, but its the only way ive found to make it work without mods

@@SnippyyyThere is actually a mod where it overhauls Fallout 4 in a way that it treats you as the Lone Wanderer from Fallout 3. You can start outside the vault, discover the remains of Shaun's parents and find the holotape about the kidnapped kid that throws you into the detective "Find Shaun" storyline. It's pretty neat. It also changes all NPC reactions and dialogues so that you are treated as the Londe Wanderer and not as Sole Survivor.
