I picked up a satin finished XHP Chief from Cutlery Shoppe for $155. Good action, good centering, good edge bevels on mine. I’m very satisfied with it.

I have the Spyderco Native Chief in S90V Carbon and the finish is very nice and flush on top and overall. I think the Carbon S90V is one of the better versions of this knife. I wish they made a Native Chief in OD green with a Cru-wear steel blade , that would be nice . I do have the Native Chief Burnt orange in REX-45 so even though I missed out on the Cutlery shoppe version that is OK 2 of these is enough for me unless they make one in OD green .

I have both of the Cutlery Shoppe PM2 Wharncliffe (Satin & DLC) and both look fantastic, but I've yet to handle a Native Chief.

I wonder if the reason the scales stand proud of the backspacer is because a final pass on the sander/grinder would hit the coating and ruin it. Is the same at the lockbar?

Man I hear what you're saying on those minor flaws of the high G-10 on the back, that small raise at the spyder hole and the slight off centering. It is $190, and those things make a difference at that price point.
