Indeed they are kings of the running sprints lol. I've always liked the size of the native chief. Seems to be one of those great slimmer big knives. Great review 👍

I keep looking at the Chief and trying to figure out whether or not I want one. I have most of the rest of the Native family line already (except the ever elusive Shaman). That's weird about the clip position for you. My PM2 Max is the only one I've ever gotten that was tip down configured upon arrival. Thanks and have a great day, Dirk. S/F

Yes for the minority of people that sharpen you guys can tell. BUT can you tell if you’re not sharpening at the time? Like if you’re just carrying a knife for a week doing normal stuff. After days of use and carry can you tell this steel is more dull than that steel? If my question even makes sense.

@@DirkWerning honestly for the most part no.. but like most people my knife only comes out a few times a day.. and usually for a task that is at best light duty

I’m not a steel snob as long as the knife is priced accordingly.

If you can’t be bothered to sharpen your own knives, you need to reconsider your priorities. 🤦♂️ With a guided system, (as little as ~$60), it’s extremely simple, and easy to do well.

Well, it’s not that I can’t be bothered I don’t want to come across as being too good to sharpen my own knives or anything. It’s just not something I want to invest the time and energy into when I have friends I can have simply do it for me. At some point I might get into it I’m just not sure. Thanks for your thoughts.

@@DirkWerning Ok. I guess I just assumed (wrongly) that we “knife guys” all enjoy maintaining our own tools, but of course that’s not the case… otherwise professional sharpening services wouldn’t be a thing. 🤔 I draw great satisfaction from doing my own work, (whenever possible). Even if my edges aren’t the shiniest mirrors around, my knives are still SHARP, dang it! 😁 Ymmv Anyway, thanks for the knife content. I appreciate it. 👍

i like the elongated shiro like blade but spydercos handles leave a lot to be desired. they are just squares with knocked down edges. I wish they were all contoured like the bowie, and yes you can get aftermarket scales but spyderco's aren't great to take apart and I'd rather not have to spend money on top of a $150 knife to get it to work ok.
