Yeah what he did is not true rather you take the 2 up to be an exponent then use the product rule, it will then create a cubic polynomial, that is what I think but this thing of multiplying with 2 is not true

Log(x+2)-log(x-4)=log3 Log(x+2)/(x-4)base 10=log3 base 10 Base 10 cancel out, Left with x+2/x-4 = 3 Cross multiply 3(x-4) = x+2 2x=14 x=7
