Brontosaur grazing the forest. That is serious board feet and pulp produced right there. I like the way he is cutting his own corduroy mats as he goes to keep him out of the mud as much as possible.

Brings back fond memories of Swamp Loggers with Bobby Goodsons crew here in NC. I've mentioned it before that I love your camera's, most videos here on KZbin are horrible-grainy-out of focus, but not yours glad you were a photographer when you wore a younger man's clothes it makes these videos easy to binge watch. Thanks for putting out quality vids , always have loved the Tiger Cat machinery. Take care & God bless 🙌

It's neat how all this machinery does all the measuring and stripping of the logs. It took me 2 days to watch the video. I had other stuff to do yesterday and couldn't watch it all. Definitely a long video

Swamp Loggers was a great show, The Bobbie Goodson is a good guy and definitely liked the Tiger Cats, I remember him saying it was one of the best for swamp logging. Great video Chris, I could see the 22MB ready for the forwarder to load the deck. 👍🏻👍🏻 Jesse has a heck of an operation and stream lined, cut a few of the middle men out. Good Night Irene.

Husqvarna should send you to Sweden on a 'fact finding' trip to see the latest robotic forestry equipment. Amazing gear... 8- legged crawlers designed to operate on soft terrain , will scan , select and process trees of a certain circumference continuously...only thing holding them back.. power packs. 👍

After i had been out of the woods for several years i had a chance to work on a 600 arce farm. I contracted a machanical logging crew. We started out just clearing the view. The land owners likedbthe big checks. They ended up clearing 82 acres of new pasture. I loved watching them work.

Nice! Tigercat. Made in Canada! 🇨🇦👍 Thanks for buying Canadian!
@InTheWoodyard2 ай бұрын
To me where a product is made does not matter, the quality of the machine and dependability and the retained value does. Good people make the things not the countries. Countries over regulate control and extort the companies with fees and taxes. My rant is over...sorry! Canadians are like good cousins to us!

The tigercat reminds me of swamp loggers that is what bobby had i use to watch it still do reruns guess woods in my blood even though we owned a sand and gravel company and I had dump trucks to deliver material to customer but friend owned tree company and would help him out haul logs are whatever sold the business in 92 went to work for him cause I'm a heavy equipment operator also I so some. That dozer is an ant in comparison to that TIgercat Harvester. Clearly Jesse lives the motto of "Go big or go home". Jesse has a good point of not putting handles on the bundles for theft deterrent. Those arms on the harvester head are sharp enough to peel the bark from the logs as they go. That has to help with producing a better bundle firewood product.
@InTheWoodyard2 ай бұрын
All of the aspen/poplar is going to a paper mill none of it is used for firewood....mostly toilet paper and cardboard. The bark peels off easily in the spring when the trees are wet with leaf growing sap.

I haven't seen the entire video yet but some harvesters will split sawed and peeled logs, too. Impressive, but I doubt they do well with crooked, deeply knotty trees. Three to four foot diameters may be problematic also. Surely, any harvester is a godsend for loggers on large jobs.

@InTheWoodyard13 күн бұрын
I have watched both run and from what I can see it is the operator that makers the difference.
@kopitzke5513 күн бұрын
@@InTheWoodyard Operator skill definitely matters, but there’s a reason Ponsse sells 50-100 machines a year while Tigercat only sells 1-2. Tigercat heads are almost identical to the Ponsse H7 for a reason-Ponsse excels in service. In Tigerton, where I’m from, Ponsse has its own certified mechanic who handles all our warranty work and knows the machines inside and out. That’s why we’ve owned six Ponsse machines. The local lumber company has a Tigercat, and they couldn’t get it serviced until a shop five hours away came down. Come watch an ergo in action on a large hardwood, 20” and up. You’ll see the difference for yourself.
