The oiler on my chainsaw stopped oiling the other day. I would say that one of that machines benefits are no chain oil costs and the speed is unreal. Your video came out just as i was finishing breakfast here in BC. Good work guys.

I would buy a couple of “soft mats” You will feel the difference at the end of the day . Better than standing on hard cold concrete all day.

Good video 👍 Can you show the blade change next time if it feasible? I would like to see the ease or difficulty of a blade swap. Impressive machine. Love your content.

I think that blade will run for years without being pulled off. Unless something is hit with it
@oakfarmfirewoodАй бұрын
Yes or warped by jamming 👍🏼 new video shows blade change. Very easy

why don't you use the hopper feeder at the end of the conveyor belt, so you can produce all the time while one of you changes bags

Great stuff my friend.. I thought you had to dry the wood a bit before putting in bulk bags.. no worries about mold?? What's the secret?
@oakfarmfirewoodАй бұрын
Some woods yes would be good to split and part dry. Beech and birch (high sugar content) but ash etc is fine green but!! Must be physically dry ie processing on a dry day. Also a good ventilation barn is key

It would be interesting to see a comparison of life of a blade compared to a chain, and the ease of sharpening each, and the cost of each to replace. I would also expect the blade to be creating much less sawdust as it would be a thinner cut compared to the chainsaw, thus wasting less of your wood.
@oakfarmfirewoodАй бұрын
So yes chain you can sharpen yourself but the saw blade I would have to send away. Chain normally last 1/2 - 1 day cutting. Where a sawblade (without hitting metal etc) will last a few months this also depends on how much you are using the machine. Being a second machine it could last is 6 months to a year. But mainly the sawblade requires no chain oil, is faster and as you said less sawdust

Great video, great machine! Just a suggestion for the last cuts on a log, why don't you mark up 46 cm and cut the cookie? Then you're left with a longer piece that can be cut in half, should be more stable? Or doesn't it have any pinch on that length?
@oakfarmfirewoodАй бұрын
We could try mark the machine 46cm but marking each wood would be to slow. I’ll give it a go
@kaimagnemauseth8516Ай бұрын
@@oakfarmfirewood Yeah, I was thinking about marking the machine like you did at 23 cm. 🤞

Fork extensions, then you could load two bags at a time? Great work, enjoying your journey.

Need to shine them up and find some pins for the back but yes. The rust is gripping the bag loops like mad

just wondering do you find processing green wood harder or easier on the processor
@oakfarmfirewoodАй бұрын
Green wood tends to be easier than seasoned cord. Cutting and splitting

Pinching on a large piece of wood and log moving

Your "head camera" is moving "left to right" so fast that it is dizzying to watch. It reminds me of how children record videos. They "jerk" the camera up and down, and left to right too fast, which makes the video unwatchable. The Ohio Wood Burner (USA channel) has a separate camera angle that points right at the cutting device and splitting device without moving the camera. It is almost impossible to see what is going on, with that camera on your head. Your processor is practically unknown in the US. It would be great if you could implement the above camera angles.

So many complimentary thoughts in one comment 😂😂 Maybe a pillow for your head....a warm face cloth....some cheese with your whine? Another great video Archie, full of excellent content. 👍 👌

I find the camera fine. Cause I can't imagine having time setting up cameras. Just glad to get the content

@@woodnewf3847 Archie is my most respected wood processor. He has automated everything. Very smart and ambitious guy! Rarely do I offer any constructive criticism. However, he concentrates on production, while his video skills "slide". The speed and function of the Palex is hidden, which is a shame. We really need to see this impressive machine. Thanks for your perspective and comment.

Almost straight as an arrow your timber buddy . Iiiiii iiiii was think 🤔 cord of bundle is over $8000.00 Canadian turn it over in toothpick work out to $24000.00 Canadian. Remember SAW IN THE WOOD 🪵. 😊😊
