First time I've ever seen this song reacted to by anyone. Good one.

🌸 when Kenny loggins had his son, he did a follow-up song to this one called " return to Pooh corner" it's so beautiful and so touching and I cry every time.

When Kenny Loggins wrote the song, and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band was recording it… Disney came after them and said that they couldn’t use anything about Pooh because of their copyright. That night Kenny went on a date with his girlfriend and said how bummed he was that Pooh corner couldn’t be released because of Disney lawyers. She asked “Disney lawyers”? Let me talk to daddy. Kenny did not know he was dating the daughter of the CEO of Disney. That is how he was able to continue with the distribution of Pooh corner. Oops, I see that you already found out this information by the end of your reaction.😂

"House At Pooh Corner" was written by Kenny when he was just 17 years old. It was first performed by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in1970 & then by (Kenny) Loggins & (Jim) Messina on their album "Sittin' In" in 1971. In 1994 Loggins re-recorded the song "House At Pooh Corner" (with an additional verse) under the title "Return To Pooh Corner". I love Loggins & Messina's music from the 70's. I had their albums. They had a lot of great songs such as "Danny's Song", "Your Mama Don't Dance", "Thinking Of You", "My Music", "Angry Eyes", "Watching The River Run", "Vahevala", "Lahaina", "Sailin' The Wind", "Pathway To Glory" etc.

My parents had an 8 track tape of this album and I remember listening to it myself and really appreciating the vocal harmonies. Haven’t heard this song or any of the others you mentioned in many, many years. My father just passed away and I have to admit I got quite emotional listening to it and thinking of very fond memories.

Shawn, a few years later, Kenny Logins redid this with Return to Pooh Corner. It was gentler, slower, more "magical" in tone, and there was one more verse added, telling about tucking his own son into bed with his old bear. And bear whispered, "Boy, welcome home!". A sweet listen.

Oh no. This song makes me cry. It takes me back to when my kids were little. My daughter was a Pooh fanatic. Now she’s getting ready to have her own little Pooh Bear. 🥹

This is such a sweet song! You are the first person I’ve seen react to it. Love the old Kenny Loggins & Jim Messina stuff! When I watched my nieces many moons ago, I always played this for them. I’m the old hippie aunt that introduced them to 60’s thru 80’s music! In turn, they have turned me on to a lot of the new music! Loving your appreciation to different genres of music! Keep them coming!

Trivia time: The original "Winnie The Pooh" was an actual bear cub, adopted by a soldier in Winnipeg, Canada (thus, the name "Winnie"). There is a Winnie The Pooh museum there. The end part of Winnie's life was lived in a zoo in England.

I used to get requests to play this song on my guitar at a day care center eons ago. I still play the chord progression occasionally because it is unlike most other songs I have ever played. Most songs do not have a 7 chord progression. Kids still love it.

So many people think of I'm Alright, Footloose and Danger Zone have never heard Kenny's old stuff and the work with Dave Messina. Heard this as a kid when it came out and was a big fan of Winnie The Pooh as a child, and how much this song speaks to the innocence of child hood and children's stories before we all inevitably grow up and leave those days behind. Great choice and reaction Shawn.

This song hit me perfectly in the 70s, both Loggins an Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The Pooh books were my favorite books as a child, and I had a Pooh’s Birthday book to keep track of friend’s birthdays as they signed my book on their birthday’s page. I was I college in the 70’s but this re-connected me to my childhood in beautiful way. I got many college friends to sign my Pooh book.

The title of the album comes the fact Mesina was suppose to just produce the album but was asked to sit in. Messina use to be in Buffalo Springfield. Try listening to their first hit-Your Mama Don't dance and your daddy don't rock and roll.

I already posted this on an earlier L&M review,Shawn, but if you were without company and could sing and play this song at parties or anywhere for that matter in the early 1970s, you never went home alone. The ladies all melted over this one.😅 Edit: don't believe me? Read the comments here and see who is writing them😊

Good reactions to "House on Pooh Corner" by Loggins + Messina. On earlier comment I mentioned how "Sittin' In" is one of fave '70s albums. Side 1 is perfect IMHO, I recommend the opener "Nobody But You" and Trilogy, closer Side 1.

Kenny Loggins is a wonderful, magical songwriter. Using instruments and melody to convey the sweet image of Winnie the Pooh and the loss of our childhood. And it does remind me of our listen to "Puff the Magic Dragon". The melancholy feeling of that loss is conveyed in both songs. Someone much smarter than I once told me that there's a big difference in childlike and childish. I've held on to the former all my long life. Blessings all.

Oh, Jesus. It's NOT about drug use and it's not about literally being lost. It's OBVIOUSLY about growing up and wanting to return to childhood. I've never seen anybody who didn't get that instantly. The lyrics do everything but spoonfeed it to you, for Christ's sake.
