He is just an example of someone whose sensitivity was a gift and a curse. He is way more in tune with the human struggle than most rap artists today. (Hip hop, in general, used to be that way). And he is as empathetic to humanity as it gets. He is emotional. He is affected by criticism. He does take things to heart. He is everything that most of us are as human beings. He is just open about all of these things in a genre that doesn't value or respect them. Most artists who have shown their sensitive side have had to temper it with a harder side to stay relevant. Logic is just a talented artist in a genre that has no respect for what he stands for. That part is not his fault.

I was a logic fan when he was dropping mixtapes. I liked his flow and beat selection and his freestyles sounded good, but then I realized how much he was trying to sound like Drake when Drake was really taking off. I noticed how all his freestyles sound the same. I noticed his rather basic and kinda predictable rhyme schemes. He's got flow and hes got his sound, but lacks originality in other areas. I hadn't heard he was biting K dot and j cole but I'm not surprised in the least bit. Xxxtentacion and Juice Wrld were just as sensitive but had way more originality.

@ServinReal2 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I think we’ve all heard the saying, “I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my ish”. I don’t think there’s any artist who isn’t affected by criticism even if they can hide it very well. There are people who are built for this tough and unforgiving industry and those who aren’t. We’ve seen Kanye rap for years about his critics and his insecurity. And yet Ye is still here moving forward (I hope mentally now still). Ye’s Netflix doc was an eye opener on how his own people were trying to keep him boxed in as a producer but he fought for himself to get out of that box. When you say, “genre that doesn’t value or respect them [the topics Logic discusses]”. Kendrick, Cole, and many others within the genre discuss the same topics he does (guilt, questioning identity, mental illness, suicide, etc.). I don’t think we should blame the genre. It’s certain peoples WITHIN the genre who’ve been shading Logic. But only Logic can control his actions and reactions. I feel for him because I’m an empath but like I said: not everyone is built for the music industry.

Logic is my favourite rapper, and I will say that it is just a fact that his worst shit is still better than a lot of current rappers that don't get criticism for stealing/copying other people's stuff. Logic was heavily inspired by so many people, and while overused, I see no issue when he pays homage to other rappers and it wholesome and genuine about it. Rappers these days come up offering nothing of value and are loved and praised, but Logic who's nicer and makes better, more impactful music, isn't held to the same standards. He was heavily inspired by Kendrick and J. Cole, but not once listening to their stuff to I think "Ah yes, Logic took this" I just don't hear it. He references a lot of stuff. The Thalia thing definitely was an idea he was inspired by from Tribe. The Joyner thing is hilarious, because he even admitted that he was just envious of the dude and wanted to pick a fight, then got upset because Logic didn't respond by saying his name. He's been accused by so many of cheating on his first wife without there being any proof at all besides "timing". COADM was a social experiment, and always was one, he said it before it released, but of course only the fans who dig deep will know this, but so many people spread BS. But you really can tell the people who are fans from the people who don't take 5 minutes to look in to him and his shit, his whole Incredible True Story idea is super creative and unique, and a better fictional story than any other rapper has made, and his real life story of him growing up is told pretty well, not on the level of Kendrick through deep meaningful music, but Logic told it through good songs you can vibe through. People saying he's anything other than a genuine, good dude, who is inspired by his peers, loves hip-hop and his fans are just mad for the sake of being mad. The dude has his issues, there's gripes in there, but people always look for the wrong shit, or shit that seems like it's an issue but actually does have it's reasons. I'd be mad too if I thought the dude did bad shit, but he really doesn't.

You can’t call 2017-2019 “his horrible run” it was they were the 3 biggest years of his life. Everybody debuted at #1 BT2 debuted at #1 and COADM debuted at #. He even went on to release what some people call his best project “No Pressure” the year after.
@chrisisrussian99332 жыл бұрын
@@sleepykaito4348 yes, commercially 2017-2019 was logics best commercial run, he was the most popular he was ever at that point and made the most money off of work he has put out in that era. However, what he is referring to is the lackluster reception from the fanbase that logic has created since 2010, of pretty much all of those releases. BT2 is the only project I could stomach besides no pressure but I don’t count no pressure as part of this run. I mean keep in mind Supermarket was released on behalf on his book. I remember reading it and listen to the album as I read it. If anything, it only pertains to the book. It wasn't the best, yeah, but at the end I realized it was more of a soundtrack for his book. Bobby Tarantino lowkey had some bops in there. Everybody is a CONCEPT album that targets mental health. That was the main goal. If you didn't like it, it probably wasn't meant for you. It was meant for others who were depressed. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just simply stating that that album had a clear goal of helping everyone with their own battles and to say it sucks, kind of takes away from all the positive feedback from broken people. People that actually felt they could relate for once. To be honest, I haven't listened to as much Logic after he "retired". I treated COADM as a turn-up album and I just turned off the "Where's the old Logic" and just treated it as a regular album that the gen. pop listens to. Talking about money and b*tches and stuff. I still go back and listen to the older albums like U.P, or to the amazing intro of TITS and continue to listen to the rest, but I can't say I agree or disagree with either side. I'm just a random mf.

Logic is EASILY a top 10 hip-hop artist of his generation. He’s just a genuine guy who had the gift and the hard work to become a commercially successful rapper, all while staying true to himself. I love his relatability, and the fact his personality truly shines through his music. I feel like you truly get to know HIM, the guy behind the brand, allowing his fanbase to make a true connection with the art and the artist. I do see the inconsistency, as the tail-end of his projects with def-jam, excluding No Pressure, were sub-par. Being a fan of the guy for nearly a decade has me excited to see where he takes his career next, though I doubt he’ll ever be mainstream again. But being independent for College Park has me hopeful that we can expect a sound similar to that of his mixtapes, just more refined. Sorry for the long ass ramble, but damn man it just sucks to see how negative the general perception of Logic is.

Not saying Drake is the only one guilty of this just the most prominent and most obvious 🙃

Nowadays cornball is just an overused word to try and sound smart while also telling others you just don’t like the artist.

@@friendlyfire2374 in this instance it means someone who tries too hard Logic has just tried too hard to convince his audience and by extention himself that he belongs in rap. Joyner's cornyness is that nothing he does seems genuine it all seems like he's trying to be something he's not in an obvious attempt to get views and streams. So your right I won't use that word in the future I'll just elaborate

Logic will always be my #1 artist. Yeah he did do things that were different but sometimes an artist doesn't always wanna do the same thing his whole career. He almost always has the best beats and keeps true to himself. And talks about actual struggles people go thru. He doesn't always talk about the "coolest" topics

The sad part is if he didn’t worry so much about outside opinion and had just kept moving forward then he no one would’ve batted an eye. This seems so repetitive you’d think that should be simple by now.

The irony in the name of logic. You’d think he would’ve thought about these possible outcomes.

Logic is amazing, he’s making more than he ever did, his career is in a great place…. Who thinks his rap career is dead. He’s probably in the best place he’s ever been

having been a Logic fan since Welcome to Forever I can say I'm happy where Logic is at right now. Needless to say it's not his best but he's come a long way from the train wreck that was Everybody and the extremely lazy Bobby Tarantino III. I think he's content with where he's at and so am I. No longer chasing the spotlight or make the next "banger", he's already proved himself. From the mixtapes to the classic "Under Pressure".

Under pressure and the incredible true story, made logic one of my favorite rappers of all time, but I think the media really tried to chip away at his success. He's still lyrically one of the most talented out there

Young Sinatra was the shit as soon as Everybody dropped he just became weird

Yeah I feel like "Everybody" itself was really good too, but like idk that's when I think the media stuff started changing how he was viewed. You're right that after that album it was a bit weird. But that might just be the difference between someone who was scratching and clawing to just make a living and from someone who has already become successful, the music they make is vastly different.

College Park came out today. Show some respect he has nothing to prove that album is amazing

I have loved Logic for many years. I just ignore those people. I feel terrible that some of these people do this to Bobby.

Been a fan of logic since 2014 when he dropped his debut because Gang Related kept coming up on pandora when I was too young to buy streaming services. Logics problem is his inconsistency. He has amazing high points in his discography that ANY hip hop loving person can at least respect or enjoy once for what it is, (Under pressure, the incredible true story, all of the young Sinatra mixtapes minus the 4th, no pressure and his most recent vinyl days) but as I grew up and logic dropped more consistently, the quality dropped by so much. Everybody was the start of the change, COADM did not resonate with me AT ALL. BT2 and 3 were mid to me. If logic had never released COADM, I think he would be looked at differently, cause that’s when I stopped caring myself. Vinyl days is an amazing return for him though,it’s a great body of work!

Under pressure was and still is one of my favorite projects in hip hop. T.I.T.S. Was a great album, not better than under pressure in my opinion. Everybody is when I noticed he started crossing over his mixtapes with albums. His mixtapes were “turn up” and bangers, simplistic bars, not impressive. Everybody, and 1-800 were created for his new younger fans. I didn’t like it personally and haven’t supported his recent projects. Maybe I might have to check out his new album… time will tell
