Is it possible to have a Multi-Channel Kit (Isolated Tracks) and use the Drum Kit Designer (Custom Kit)? Can we Have best of both worlds? Would we need to bus it somehow??

Would like to know the answer to this too

In Logic 11 you can. Just choose a multi channel kit from the channel strip, then on the first channel (Overheads) open the drum kit designer and customize the kit the way you want.

Thanks! How do I add the crash cymbals on their own channel to be used in the beat sequencer along with the rest of the kit?
@kingofdjembeАй бұрын
@@Team512 Ah sorry, you mean each track having its own regions, like in DMD? I'm not an expert but I'm not sure this is possible. Seems like there is just one instance of Drum Kit Designer for the whole kit. The kit pieces are separated for mixing purpose (but I didn't see a dedicated one for the crashes, just Overheads).

@@kingofdjembeYes, exactly!

I would also add. I use drum loop fills within logic and place them where I want them. I find it quicker than writing my own.

Good idea. Can you explain how you program that? 😊
@joewilliams53964 ай бұрын
@@Slimthewhip I use version 10. However it is still possible in either version. I create space where I whish it to go, then drag the loop over. You can test the fill while in the loop before dragging it will play in tiime. Whatever the loop time sig is. If not a Midi loop create an audio track, then turn it into midi or the other way round. I very rarely like the auto drummer fills. Sometimes I'll drop the track down to a new track and edit the fill the drummer track created.

Thank you for your amazing videos! I have edited the sounds of the drummer, then exported to midi but when I select a multi-channel kit, it restores the sounds of the original drummer kit. Is there any way to keep the sounds that I chose? Thank you!

So I want to record in logic with a petal mimic pro with an el kit play the parts myself how loud should I set the channel strip for the drums? Sorry new to logic

Do those multi channel kits put more stress on your cpu and ram ?
@MusicTechHelpGuy4 ай бұрын
Probably a little - there's more channels and more plugins, so more processing, but I've not had any issues running them.

Are Drum Kit Designer kits multi-sampled, multi-velocity layered? And if the velocity triggers differed samples of say…the snare…is that controllable or programable?
@kingofdjembeАй бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong but : Yes to the first question and no to the second.
