As an older guy, and absolute newbie, I found this clear, concise and very informative. Will be viewing the rest of the course. Thanks, MusicTechHelpGuy.

Mate - started off with the trial version of Logic Pro, with 32 days still left, I couldn't do it. So I bought the full version about an hour ago! Your videos are ridiculously helpful, as everyone has mentioned, full, informative, clear and to the point. I have learned more in your videos than I did when I thought Ableton was what I wanted to use for the last 3 years. Thank you so much for doing this, people like you don't always get the recognition you deserve, so well done, 324k subscribers is pretty damn good! Anyway, enough sycophantic drivel from me, onward to the next lesson, "How to Plug it In"......Cheers mate!

Did a pretty good dive into myself. I like the way the drummer was before but maybe a bit more work and it will be just fine.

Are these sounds good for professional CD production? Or do you then use audio samples?(like splice?)
@MusicTechHelpGuyАй бұрын
They are what you make of them, and the genre you're writing for also matters. I've mixed albums where Drummer was the main drum instrument on the entire album, but I usually will enhance the drums further with additional samples (usually DrumWerks for acoustic sounds). Splice is more for pop and hip-hop type stuff, but you could certain integrate some additional Splice samples into these Drummer grooves.

Ever since the 11 update came out I've been playing around with these AI session players. Like a micromanaging band conductor, you can quite literally tell them how to play and they will do a pretty decent job. You can make them do another take with the exact same settings to generate subtle variations. Now the vocalists get to fire the whole band.

the available parameters, ie cymbals, hi hat etc, are less in the new session drummer.

I have a drum track with a few drum rolls… I want to take out just one of the drum rolls and it won’t let me. This is a real pain in the ass. If I reduce the drum rolls it reduces all of them, if I try to cut one out it changes the rhythm. It’s a cluster fuck.

Try converting the session player region to MIDI, then cut out the spots with the rolls?
