Let’s explore a new Tool introduced with Logic 10.8; the Slip Tool. This allows you to move the position of content within a region and is incredibly helpful if you’ve got sections of Audio playing slightly out of time, which you want to adjust.
However, it’s also useful if you want to reprogram beat patterns, particularly if you’re looking for a new way to chop up a pattern into slices and then almost randomly select which piece of audio should play in each slice. I’ll show you how you can combine the Slip Tool and the Snap value setting to do exactly this and also show you how you could use the Slip Tool to create fills. To pop a cherry on top, I’ll add BeatBreaker as, combining all of these techniques, we can soon have a brand new beat loop.
