I like how Myke used Eminem as an example at 6:20, but I think with Em it was a bit different. According to him in his interview with Complex late last year, it was more so a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type thing. The same fans who say they want the OLD Slim complain when he does the OLD Slim and want him to mature and vice versa...which to an extent, I can understand. Some fans are fickle, and there's no debating that. That's why I'm always like do what YOU want to do when crafting your art; you can't please everybody. With Logic, that's a COMPLETE different story so I don't know what the hell is going on in HIS head. Great review, guys!

Same flows, same beats (tracks 2 and 3 are almost the exact same beat fr), and the best songs on the album are the ones where he's just having fun. Like, 1000 Miles and Running is awesome because it's just Logic being good at rapping. Logic is so much fun to listen to when he's actually living his Positivity gimmick and showing his skill. But when it comes to song structure, sounds, flows, lyricism, beat selection, etc. he's just average. Logic is a phenomenal rapper and a slightly-better-than-average hip hop artist as a whole.

Compare this album to TITS, Under Pressure, and all of the other Young Sinatra mixtapes and this album doesn’t even compare to any of those projects. Tons of re-used lines, rhyme schemes and bars are all over this album. I’ve listened to the album about 10 times just trying to force myself to like it since it’s the last one and I can’t. I damn near hate the album besides 2 songs, those being Glorious Five and YSIV, and even with those I don’t feel the need to go back and listen to them just because the album was so disappointing. I remember when Logic was coming up and then he finally released Under Pressure and that album was incredible and I thought he was the future of hip-hop and now... that’s definitely not the case. Ever since he released Everybody, which was pretty bad, he hasn’t been the same and I think the success of 1-800 had something to do with that. He keeps saying he’s the best but yet he hasn’t released anything great since TITS and hasn’t done anything to get better and improve as an artist. Keeps re-using lines thinking people don’t notice and to me that shows laziness when it comes to writing and as an artist. I love Logic as a person but as an artist, he’s only gotten worse after TITS.

This album is defensive and proud, and like you guys said, he's got a real self reflection problem. This and Bobby 2 have been my least favourite logic albums he's ever released, and i think if logic can't take a step back and go after topics he cares about (like everybody) instead of all this self hype, I do think he's let fame change him for the worse.

I like the odes to other songs Logic did with the titles (Wu Tang Forever - Drake, 100 miles and running - Wale). The part Myke said about “Logic sounding defensive and not creating an album out of genuine interest for the Sinatra series” was truthful and I agree. I also agree with Feefo when he said Logic can’t see how his album and mixtapes are different. Logic was a far better lyricist earlier in his career peaking at TITS if you ask me and every album after just sounds like a decline, except all of his Bobby Tarantino projects are 🔥. But to me Logic probably won’t be remembered because of his copy + paste mentality when it comes to music ie Drake + Logic + Wale + Kanye + J Cole + (insert rapper) = Logic. Long live “Under Pressure”

I didn't think the album was that bad but I do think that Logic is doing the following: he's creating as many projects for as many audiences as he possibly can. That's the part that sets him apart from other artists. His producers are making beats no one else is making. Now, as far as CONTENT, I'm not seeing much of it, and I'm guessing it's probably so he can reach more audiences. On the other end, I wonder what his future plans are. I hope that at some point he makes a legit content and lyrically based rap album. Right now he's just riding the wave and I'm sure people would agree (if you really know about rap) that it sounds like he's freestyling or freewriting. Tech N9ne and Joyner both didn't like that Logic freestyled on Siracha. "You were supposed to Chop" is what both of them said and I couldn't agree more. His flow, delivery, and accent is super dope and unique, but that's all he's caring about right now. Comparing to his Datpiff underground mixtapes, his mainstream music is ... just a different story/world. As an artists, I kinda can't blame him. I know what it's llike to have two main audiences, and to have to meet both of them in the middle. What he can do is make both kinds. Make sick shit, and groovy shit in the same album, or per album, and worry less about always meeting everyone in the middle.

Logic during his mixtape days and his first debut album Under Pressure was great to me. I didn't mind The Incredible True Story either. However, I started to enjoy him less and less after that. There was so much potential but he kept trying to appeal to the majority especially after his 1-800 song blew up and imo lost what made him special. That's why people crack jokes about his music because they've only listened to the new Logic. But even on YSIV where he tried to bring his old self back, it just isn't the same.

As someone who doesn't listen to a lot of Logic before YSIV, I wasn't really expecting something life-changing. Overall, when I finished the album, I ended up really liking the product. But, that's just me. I can understand people who are/were Logic fans not liking it. My favorite tracks off the album is Legacy, 100 Miles and Running, YSIV, Wu-Tang Forever & The Return. My least favorite however are Ordinary Day, Iconic, One Day & Thank You. I gave it a 7/10.

Part of what makes shit from the artists side so cheesy is the ability to react to shit in real time. Our greats never had to deal with their reception till it was time for the next project. I think critics forget that and that’s where the chip on the shoulder comes from. Just food for thought.

I absolutely love The Incredible True Story, and while I haven't done my due diligence and really explored his other albums and mixtapes (save for Everybody, which had... Maybe 3 decent tracks?), I don't think, going forward, I could find myself checking in on Logic's future endeavors. He seems too scattered in his intentions - ever since his guest appearance on Catepillar, I got the sense that he wrote himself into a corner and can't/won't find a way out. I can totally sympathize with wanting to talk about issues relevant to you when you've got such a large platform - biracialism and mental illness are topics often disregarded by mainstream hip-hop artists. But the talent he has demonstrated in the past is now being squandered, as he seems to spend it on defending his newest bodies of work, rather than focusing his efforts squarely on the addresding topics HE BROUGHT UP IN THE FIRST PLACE with fundamentally good music. Change is great, but if you spend half the time talking about how "some people just don't understand" or "what even is the culture" and all that, you're reducing the potential impact you could be making by a huge margin. It's not a case of "stick to the music and shut up," it's a case of "let the music speak for you."

I understand and agree with a lot of points... Still one of my favorite albums this year. Also like am I the only person who liked T.I.T.S better then Under Pressure? I get ones a classic but... am I trippin?

TITS way better conceptually. The whole space theme was executed perfectly for me beats/skits wise. I think that was the epitome of him finding “his sound” that people keep saying he doesn’t have. But it been downhill from there

Efficient Exuberance Yup to me T.I.T.S is slightly better than UP both are Hip Hop Classics it's mainly the production on T.I.T.S I like a little more than the one on UP

stricek zeljko LMAO So every other hip hop conceptual album like GKMC Illmatic MMLP where an MC talks about the struggles of their bringing in the hood and trailer park were completely 100% original and had no inspirations from other artists at all ?? LOL you must really hate Logic if you think every other album like UP has content that was 100% original and what other rapper in this era has made an album revolving around outer space and an audio cinematography story to go along with it ?? Every rapper is inspired by other artists there is no conceptual album that's 100% original and with no influences or inspirations from other artists especially with how easy it is to find the samples and interviews where an artist talks about who their influenced by Morons like you just got an unhealthy amount of hate for Logic and you really should listen to albums for just the music and the message rather than nitpick something that every artist and than make false claims LOL
