Jokes aside, im glad myke was very blunt and honest despite DEHH interviewing logic in the past. The reason im glad is because i feel like logic will actually listen to this video and not be gassed up by fans, saying that this is a good album. because its super flawed, and yes, logic can make a way better album; he's just caught up in trying to pull an attempt at making a concept album because maybe he saw kendrick did a couple concepts and that looked cool to logic maybe.

At the end of the 2nd album when Thomas and Kai land on the planet Paradise, they get off the ship and step foot onto the planet. Then they start walking to their destination while they listen to Everybody and once the album ends, Thomas and Kai tell the listener that they're putting on the final album until they get to their destination. Logic said that Under Pressure, The Incredible True Story, Everybody and the final album all tie together to finish the story that begun with Under Pressure.

Issue with the review is that although I get why you guys don't understand his struggle (you aren't bi-racial), you have to understand it is an important issue that is different than your own. I am bi-racial, and I really can relate to Logic's story because although he has grown up "black" in terms of culture, he looks white and has been told he's not really black. The reason J Cole doesn't make it as big of a deal, or it isn't as big of a deal for him is because J Cole looks black...he was raised "black". He accepts that culture. Imagine if he tried to say he was white? And embrace that side of him more? Everyone would laugh at him and berate him...meanwhile that's the SAME thing Logic goes through on the other side. I have personally experience this as well, being told I am not how I was raised to be and people trying to tell me to stop pretending or accept another "reality". That being said I didn't really like the album simply because it's a bit too preachy, and the concept (like C Town says) is kinda sprinkled in not so well. There's not enough music on the album, though Everbody is a dope track. Just thought I would provide some perspective, thanks for the reviews guys.

I enjoyed the scifi elements of the album. that concept was that "God" was one in a race if advanced super beings. once Atom (the soul of all mankind) accumulates the collective wisdom and knowledge of the entire human race over an effectively infinite amount of time, he will ascend into being a super being as well. I think that's a clever and well through out sci Fi concept

Isn’t the story of the album the 2009 short story named “The Egg" by American writer Andy Weir. It basically says the once a person dies, he/she meets god. God tells that person that he/she will have to reincarnate as every single person of the world that ever lived. After that, that person grows to be a god.
@dannybuchanan36617 жыл бұрын
Every time I hear reviews I see people missing the fact that he didn't actually write the overarching story. The story on it is called The Egg and it's been around for years on the internet. The story is actually genuinely really good but the thing is that it's structured as a short story that's all together. It's a really bizarre choice to bring it in, it's like if he split up Ozymandias over the course of the entirety of an album. It just straight up doesn't work at all. I genuinely feel sorry for the original writer, and I also don't like that Logic is getting credited with writing it by a lot of people when he didn't. Overall I like the album and I like hearing about Logic's struggles as a biracial person, he brings an interesting perspective to it all (even if he can get way too preachy, especially on Black Spiderman) but the story just seems like a weird choice that he only half thought of.
@Sedrick7 жыл бұрын
Great review guys, I'm so glad you added that Favorite Track section! Because it remedies the problem I had with the DAMN review, you guys are making sure that you get more content about the actual songs into the reviews. Thanks for adding that, keep doing it please!! I have not heard this album, but I've known of Logic for a long time and this just sounds so uninteresting, but hey who knows maybe I'll listen to it and love it. I was not very impressed by The Incredible True Story. I feel like Logic had a stronger identity and better tastes in his mixtape days. Seriously his mixtapes are better than his albums.

WILDIN. The J. Cole verse was one of the most important and impactful things he's ever done. Especially coming off of 4YEO. That verse basically cements what he's been doing the past couple of years. If that's the last we ever hear of him, J. COle literally created an amazing narrative to end his career on which acts as almost a Thesis for all the music he's ever created. Crazy good.
@temporarymusiclover7 жыл бұрын
I agree. I can't believe they didn't like it or get it's purpose on the album.
@Roswell127 жыл бұрын
Ian Smart. It's not that they do not get it. I just don't like the verse because he sounds like shit. He has no energy and it seemed like he didn't even want to rap. So boring and dry.
@iansmart41587 жыл бұрын
You see, I have no problem with someone disliking the verse (but you're crazy if you do) because that's on preference. But the conversation wasn't even about what he was saying. I have heard HORRIBLE Cole songs that have had interesting ideas and I've heard good ones with basic bitch ideas. I never said they didn't get it, I'm disappointed that they didn't address WHAT HE ACTUALLY SAID which regardless of the tone and cadence I think perfectly sums up Logic's album (and is the whole thesis thing) and is kind of a beautiful sentiment and sendoff for an ending. Again, how you feel about how dry he was or had no energy that's on you and I can't tell you're wrong for disliking it, but acknowledge WHY and WHAT was in the verse. That's all i'm saying. Also, if Kendrick literally gave the same verse I don't think "boring" would be anywhere in the conversation (Cole's perception makes that word seem relevant to his verse). It was definitely a dry verse, but that worked (for me) because it highlighted the words instead of the cadence, flow, or enthusiasm. That's WHY I think he chose to rap it that way...
@iansmart41587 жыл бұрын
Naw it wouldn't.
@iansmart41587 жыл бұрын
haha, very true. Now I can't give you Kendrick delivering this same verse, but When you listen to a song like Real on GKMC or Tammy's Song on Section 80. where he uses a very monotone inflection throughout with a very repetitive unenthusiastic flow he isn't criticized for the energy in the verse but praised because of the content and because ppl have a perception of Kendrick (as a genius) that they give him the benefit of the doubt and claim he has a meaning behind the way in which he delivered his verse (this could also be preference so its hard to nail down). Now I love both of those songs and thinks Kendrick is AMAZING and a GENIUS, but I just wish the same consideration of artistry given to Kendrick would be given to others. Maybe Cole had a real reason for doing what he did, but that wasn't addressed, it wasn't addressed what he said. Only they thought it was boring, no real reason why (but we assume because of his tone and the beat behind it). Now I may seem like a jackass haha, but I try not to say things without valid reasons. I do not fault a verse for low energy or timid mood if it prompts it. I thought it was a nice contrast to the high energy, loud music Logic just ended his album with. THen you have Cole with this smooth meditative ending that basically gives a brief thesis for the message of the album. It was very intentional and I thought rather effective. Again, Kendrick has given versus of similar tone and mood and is lauded because ppl think he's doing it for a deeper purpose. Because Cole has a reputation for making boring music (which is crazy) ppl tend to label his music that when they don't like it. I think Most 21 Savage music is boring because of the terrible rapping, repetitive beats, terrible voice, and subject matter not necessarily the energy given by him, but You will never hear someone call his music boring (even though it is).

On iTunes you can actually crop song's where you don't have to hear a part of a song like a skit, If you right click on a song and then click on "Get Info" then go over to "Options" there will be 2 "Start" & "Stop" boxes, So if the skit is at the start then just type in the time when it ends in the "Start" box and if the skit is at the end then just type the time when the skit start's in the "Stop" box. Just for anybody who doesn't want to hear the skit's & I would put a thumbs up emoji but i'm on my laptop so..

I think artists need to take care of themselves as well their music because one bad Album/EP can ruin a discography especially if you don't have any bonafide classics or experience in the industry. As long as you have good, hard-hitting content out, don't try and ride/create a wave which you aren't ready for. Take a break from the studio, We all can't be Dr Dre/Kendrick Lamar.

my problem is logic nvr goes IN DEPTH. the reason ppl think logic talks about the biracial thing too much is cos he repeats the same shit think about it, from just his mixtapes, you already know he has a racist white mom, a black dad, and isn't accepted in either community. 3 albums later, have you learned anything NEW about this struggle? he constantly revisits the topic without actually introducing any new ideas so it feels like he's beating you over the head, not because its the same topic, but because its the exact same information

The two guys from the incredible true story landed on a planet when the album ended. At the end of everybody they're still walking around. The planet that they're supports life it's not that hard to understand.

Just give up on logic, I've thrown him into the same disappointment pile as j.cole. Two rappers that couldn't get supreme kai to unlock their full potential.

Yea those speeches in the end of the song just kills the vibe

This album is probably going to be Logic's worst album of his career. He is running out of things to talk about, so he has to talk about "issues" that people like Kendrick touched on a gazillion times. It's like he is purposely trying to create or find "problems" he can rap/complain about. There is also absolutely no replay value to say the least.

Tony Montana I'm a Logic fan but ever since The Incredible True Story came out I kind of lost hope in him in terms of his new albums. Still haven't heard Everyone yet.

Tony Montana put is in his own views . i know that he shouldnt push it in his next albulm. but lets not forget wack rapper talking about the same shit over and over again

Tony Montana id argue the "no replay value" with Everybody, Killing Spree, Confess, Black Spiderman while the rest...yea pretty much cringe in my opinion but for the most part youre right.
