Bought the PW513 some weeks ago, while the quality is incredible (but needs A LOT of tuning, because out of the box it,s close to horrible), the stability and reliability are not. Camera freeze, glitches with green artefact lines etc. Software support is also not that great with their proprietary software. I'm flabbergasted that all the incredible reviews never talk about those as this is widely known issues.

@@FastRedPonyCar It did and it did not. The firmware updates made the camera more stable for sure, the auto settings are also greatly improved. But the proprietary software as become even worst in my opinion, trying to deliver unnecessary clunky features for a webcam at this price point. To the point where using the camera with standard software like obs or zoom can sometimes just not work for no reasons.

I went with the Brio. I had a coupon so I paid a little less than a Logi Streamcam. It’s 3 years older than the Avermedia cam and still performs really well. Also, the Windows Hello login ability it has is great.

The Logitech Brio Supports Windows Hello and the other camera does not. That is an important feature for myself and the main reason I purchased the Logitech Brio 4K and I’m a bit surprised given how through your videos are otherwise that you sorely neglect to mention this feature as a selling point for the Logitech.

I think its fair to assume that the Logitech will have better compatibility with more systems and setups overall once you get the flexible mount.

Interesting... when you switched to the Avermedia from the Brio, color turned orangish, and your face seemed a little foggy. I am buying the Brio. I like the tighter field of view options and it seems easiest to stick with the logitech camera software that I'm used to using. Thanks for the video!

I bought both cameras but ended up sending the Brio back and keeping the Avermedia. I got the Avermedia largely because it is easier to setup than my Lumix G7 with a camlink. i didn't want to leave my mirrorless camera connected to my computer all the time. I wanted a low cost, or should I say a lower cost option since the PW513 isn't cheap, that I could dedicated as a webcam all the time. The only downside of the Avermedia is that the color science on the Brio, and Logitechs in general, is more accurate in my opinion. I am Black and for some reason even with tweaking the white balance and hue settings it is difficult to get my skin color 100% correct. There is always a yellowish or greenish tint which is slightly present. However in every other category the Avermedia beats out the Brio. One thing I might mention is that you can change the field of view by manually Zooming in closer. The Brio achieves their field of view change just by doing an automated zoom in. It loses some clarity, but not as much as you might expect or fear. Thanks, this has been a great set of videos on these cameras.

I am pretty satisfied with the Avermedia PW513, so I don't regret sending back the Brio. The color on the Avermedia requires some tweaking, but overall it is better than the Brio.

Really, looking at both clips, they look pretty close to me --- first glance I felt the Brio was sharper -- but hard to tell. Would appreciate seeing a real background with variable distances, not digital, to determine depth-of-field.

my brio has a completely different built-in arm - it's not rubbery, it's plastic, but there's very good up and down articulation. Did they change the design recently?

Was going to say in the brio video that the video looked bad.... now that i see a comparison between it and the pw513and knowing that you probably know the brio inside out to ensure the best quality, the brio is utter garbage. The fuzzy outline croma key is amazingly bad.

I'm on the fence now. I just cancelled my order of he Brio I ordered yesterday after seeing this, and was about to order this PW513, but see there are other potential software glitches below (or limitations). I also see it is only getting a 4 star review average on Amazon, not the 4.5 for the Brio (I do tend to be swayed by large number of feedback votes). My impression from your review was primarily that the color looked better. The mount and flexibility a plus but not the priority, picture quality is. So, do you still stand by this review two months later?

To me the Brio is benefiting from the Logitech reputation, they have cameras that remain standars for up to 10 years without issues and have great support. I had webcam that looked good first few years and then started showing green lines on the top or the sides. Plus the tuning with Ghub is more than enough for a webcam, making a DSLR the only next logical step. For personal use, if the Brio is not enough, then jump to a DSLR, everything in between do not make much sense for the price in my opinion.

@@sofarsogod Same with modern cameras. You have dummy batteries solution for years now. Now the more recent support USB-C power delivery. The real benefit of webcam in my opinion is portability and easy of use. But even then if you're a bit techy you can use you smartphone+NDI, which has better cameras

I guess for Mac Silicon users without a USB-A port, for the PW513 you need to get a USB-C to USB 3.0 cable to power the webcam, which can be found easily on Amazon or Best Buy etc.

Do you think that a ring light would work if you have antiglare coating on your glasses lenses? I need better lighting I know that but I’m also disabled I have cerebral palsy and I’m in a wheelchair so it’s very difficult to manage something on my own

You have said in the other video that the Brio has a real glass lens and really focuses via the lens, i.e. not digitally. Is the PW513 a fixed focus lens, granted with considerable depth of field?

What about the fact the fact that the Avermedia doesn't seem have "Auto" buttons for lighting and other effects? Does that mean that the user needs to be more of a professional or quasi professional to use the PW513 vs. the Logitech Brio? Basically, is the Logitech better for casual users or is the Avermedia still better, even for average users? Also, are both USB 3.0 and do either or both have a higher level of USB 3.?. Do either or both have USB to HDMI cables included? Thank you.

Hey there. If you are interested in doing the upgrade and you have the budget, I would recommend in either one of these webcams. However, if what you have is working for you and you are happy with the quality it provides, then perhaps invest in a different part of your setup you don't already have, but need.
