I just got the G815. The low-profile design is what I have been searching for, for a long time. Having used other mechanical keyboards, I always found them to be just too tall for me. I do prefer a wired keyboard, wireless is not something I need. I have an under desk pull-out for my keyboard/mouse, so the wires are always hidden anyway. This is the best keyboard I have ever used by far. Very solid construction, it's built like a tank! Highly recommended, even at it's high price - now my wife wants one too :)

I also just got the G815, returned a Huntsman Elite after I saw this keyboard at Bestbuy. This is so much more sleek, it just feels more solidly made, and all of my previous Logitech products just do not DIE! I have the G502 Lightspeed with the wireless charging mousepad (Powerplay). All incredible products. The typing experience on this keyboard is PHENOMENAL! So happy I found this before my return period was up on the Huntsman Elite.

still have an ancient g710+ for nine years now ... slowly due to replacement (though it still works and I keep it cleaned... but some keycaps are becoming loose and e.g. the num-lock led is glowing almost invisible by now - esp. compared to the usualy off leds besides it). One point I noticed - and am pretty sure I'll appreciate - is, that the 815/915 only has five G-keys now - leaving the Esc-key in the upper-left corner. Cause also I use this keyboard daily for years now - every once in a while I hit G1 instead of Esc. Thanks for the very detailed review - one of the best I could find.

Nice review. I just purchased the 815, I wanted the wired version to be able to get into my bios on my desktop, always good to have a wired keyboard for that purpose (I have built many PCs and dig into the bios). The ability to get into the bios is an advanage of a wired version. One negative is that, one some keys, like the number keys on top, and many on the right side of the keyboard, the secondary symbol is not backlit, and thus you need a light on the keyboard to see these. That is about it as far as negatives; this is a killer keyboard, I have the clicky version, and it's really not that loud, and the feel is just great. The macro keeys and the G HUB software is top-notch; pretty easy to pick up and extremely rich in features. I have much to learn, but not that steep of a learning curve, as some features are easy to access and use on day one. I have a number of Logitech productrs, and generally find them qualilty at a fair price. This keyboard is just top notch, not cheap, but top notch quality. Anyway, my 2 cents. I appreciated your review. Thanks so much. .

returned my logitech g915 and kept the redragon k618 horus. Quality is like 90% similar and doesn't need to be connected to software as you can save custom color mapped keyboard and save it to the device. Doesn't disconnect once idle like others are complaining. It might have been an issue prior but software has been updated and never had any problem using it. For 1/3 of the price compared to logitech, best keyboard purchase ever.

My favorite keyboard was the Logitech solar. it doesn't light and the keys are almost flat. it's really thin but I didn't require lighting. My only complaint about it was the volume control. Going at it without looking, as I frequently did, I would accidently shut the PC down instead as the buttons were right next to each-other.

The G815/915 Tactile might suit someone coming from a laptop keyboard into mechanical keyboards but wanting to retain most of the quiet operation. I personally don't really like it. They keys wobble around excessively and somehow the actuation is a bit too heavy when typing fast, so it's just not enjoyable to use. Not a bad keyboard but not great either.
@dndallasta3 жыл бұрын
Great video but I wanted to add my $0.02 on the switch selection: coming from a Razer keyboard, the sound the switches make in the G815 and G915 is really tame. In most videos comparing the switches, they sound insane. In person, the gl tactile one (which is the one I got) almost sounds like a non-mechanical, run-of-the-mill keyboard so If I could go back and choose again I'd get the clicky.

@michaelmiles3522 жыл бұрын
Great review, but I'm a real newbie, and old one at that and looking to learn what all the buttons are for.
@ModernTechReviewsTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael! So... I am pretty sure I covered the buttons in my video. But the M1-M3 are just 3 different macro setups. You can program the G1-G5 keys with various macros. So M1 gives you 5 keys, then with M2 or M3 you can program different macros to your G keys, etc. MR is "Macro Record" which allows you to create a custom macro by recording your keystrokes. The wireless button puts it in Wireless mode which allows it to talk to the USB dongle that comes with this keyboard (G915 only). The Bluetooth button allows you to connect without the dongle, as long as your computer has Bluetooth. The "Game Mode" button basically just disables the Windows key so you don't get the start menu by accident while playing a game. The Brightness button changes the brightness of the lights on the keyboard. And then there's the media keys, which control music playback if you use a music program that supports it (most do.)
@tofu_golem2 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree with you about the macros. The macros in G Hub have a place for putting arguments when you launch an application, but the arguments never get passed to the application that is launched. If you want to pass arguments to an application on launch, you have to create a batch file, and launch the batch file with a G Hub macro. While I don't mind creating batch files, why bother putting a place in G Hub for entering arguments if you're not going to bother to pass those arguments to the app upon launch?
@pepper419 Жыл бұрын
I've got the 815 and wish I didn't have those two bright lights for caps and numbers. I have a feeling I'll end up coating them in nail polish. They're too bright. The other problem is my MR button: I can't figure out how to turn the darn thing off and it's so bright red. What do I do with that? The rest of the keyboard is light blue and stands out dog's Balls.

Expected features like Import & Export Settings, Change Profile Pictures The Software can get "stuck" but there is no "Restart" option in the Tray Menu.... There is so many more but this would go beyond the scope!
