For the G930 auto shutoff fix - go to program files > Logitech Gaming Software > G930 and edit the DEVICE MANIFEST with notepad. Use ctrl + f and find battery turnOffInterval. (all you need to do is search for battery) Change the assigned value (900 by default) to 0 or a very high number and save the file! That's all folks! :S

Started with a G930. Had the dropout issues. Tried the manifest fix, still did not work. Returned them for Turtle Beaches. 5 months later (now), arm holding earcups snaps, they were plastic. Sends them to Turtle Beach and will take up to a month. Welp, now I am back to Logitech with G933's. Hoping for a better result. So far, I am loving them over my Stealth 450's.

The frequency range of the drivers is the same on 933 and 930, my favorite feature is that it goes down so low, 20hz. I tested quite a few headsets and most don't quite get there, makes for an enjoyable bass experience.

I used the G633s for about 2 months, but then had to retourn them because the micro-usb cable kept falling out and thus disconnecting the headphones (which often lead to teamspeak crashing) If the 633s had a fix cable, i would prefer them a lot more, but i just got the 933 because it doesnt really matter if the cable is plugged in constantly or not

I've been actively using G930 for 8 years believe it or not. The leather started peeling off in its 3rd year or so and I cleared all of the leather off from it which didn't make much difference with its appearance and comfort. I experience random disconnects sometimes but apart from that, everything is great including the battery. Still can't believe how it works for all these time lol

Got the G930 and going to purchase the G933 due to wear and tear on G930 earpads and headband as perished after 3 years. Connection loss is very small, maybe once every 3 months and these have been used every day for at least 5 hours a day and battery lasts 2 days (10 hours) before recharging. Shame cant get genuine parts for them anymore. Have tested the G933 and sound quality is far superior to the G930. Comfort is about the same on both and never had issues with comfort as both headsets are comfy. Must be your head if you suffer with the headband pressure. Advice to others, worth paying more for the G933 as you do get so much more for your money, especially over the G930.
@designsbyam8 жыл бұрын
The problem with the G930s turning off isn't a battery issue, it's a driver issue. The drivers aren't telling the headphones that they are being used and the headphones just automatically turn off after about 15 minutes thinking that there isn't any usage going on. The way to fix this issue is rolling back to an old driver whilst losing some features like 7.1 virtual surround sound and the ability to change the G buttons.
@Azurren8 жыл бұрын
You've had your G930s for 3 years and they still look like that?!! I'm on my second pair of pads (first ones peeled completely) and they are peeling already. The two plastic screw clamps housing the ear rotation mechanism have long since cracked, been glued, shattered and glued again. Even the mic has snapped in two places and is held together with glue and tape. _Mine are 4 years old_
@Thetechchap8 жыл бұрын
+Azurren Wow you must really give them a beating haha :P Yeah the leather is starting to crack but they're holding up pretty well :)
@Azurren8 жыл бұрын
The Tech Chap TV True that I've miss-judged doorways a few times while wearing them but other than that I've been rather gentle.. The plastic just got brittle over time. After unscrewing the plastic clamps I found it's just wafer-thin plastic holding the metal "hinge" in place. Actually I'm surprised it didn't fail sooner.. I suspect this was caused by picking the headphones up by a can, one handed, before using two hands to put it on my head. As for the microphone the weak point is where the rubber meats the plastic covering the hinge. (Again, it just got brittle) The mic wires are within a metal sleeve so it pretty sturdy. Probably caused when bending the mic towards my mouth then back strait again when folding it back. Tbh the reason I've been looking for videos like yours is because I wanted to know if it was worth upgrading. Thankfully your video has answered this question for me!
@Thetechchap8 жыл бұрын
+Azurren What do you reckon then? Will you upgrade?
@Azurren8 жыл бұрын
The Tech Chap TV Well, like you I'm not a massive audiophile so if the sound quality isn't noticeably better I can't justify paying the £170 price tag while my g930s are still fully functional. (All be it held together with a wish and a prayer) Also I tend to keep my g930s on for most of the day when I'm at home to stream music when I'm not sitting in front of the computer. The g933 tenancy to fall-off with small head movements is a major turn off.
@Thetechchap8 жыл бұрын

I used my protection plan to get my G930 replaced in 2016 and the new G930 that they gave me fixed alot of the problems. Thanks for making the review! I was nervous about pulling the trigger on a $200 headset when I already have the G930's and they're OKAY, but getting to the finicky stage. This video sealed the deal for me though. Definitely going to spend half the cash and pick up the G930 again. Personally, I think the matte black looks better too. They should do a 933x or something that offers the pleather ear cup covers and less "bling" design, but still with the sick ass RGB lighting and reduced size microphone in the future.

my suggestion to any of you who are watching this and debating on getting these, as a person who owned the g930 for over 7 years, I HIGHLY recommend getting the wired version of the g933 which is the G633. DONT GO WIRELESS The only reason I had to upgrade to the g633 myself from my g930 ive had for over 7 years was because it just wouldnt reliably hold its connection anymore which is always going to be a problem you'll have with anything wireless. But these things especially. Which is a shame because when the g930 DOES connect and work properly it still has some of the best audio and microphone quality I've ever tested on a gaming headset.

I have had the 930 for about 4 years, and I'm quite happy with them. No dropout issues, per say, but there have been some driver compatability issues regarding new windows releases, and the logitech G software. However, my main problem was the "leather" ear cups. They degrade over time, and start flimsing up, making the headset get closer yo your ears, and it's gets annoying to the point where I got my ear sore. I bought a steelseries siberia elite prism, and it also got very sweaty and humid, as they don't breathe well at all. Ended up buying aftermarked foamed ear cups off of eBay, and chucked the steelseries in a box. 930's got better than new, imo, with foamed cups instead of the faux leather.

I can say I've had G930 for a long time and while at first it was a pretty solid headset... past year or so it has constant connection issues and random shut-offs. I've replaced the battery. I've used the hacks to disable the automatic software shutoff (but that's reliable as it happens after set time). I've tried older versions of software... just about everything. I recently ordered a new headset and will be retiring this thing to the garbage. I can say I got my moneys worth over the years but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone due to the issues it seems to have these days (and they don't appear to be related to age of my specific device)

I wonder, why test if headphones fall off when you turn your neck back? Why don't you do this stability exercise by applying it to a more real situation of common use, such as looking down or moving your head from right to left? When a person wants to turn their head back it is because they want to rest their posture and if the objective is to rest, then the fact that they fall off automatically helps to take weight off your head and rest.
@DTD12338 жыл бұрын
I know you said if we have the 930 it's probably not worth upgrading, but I'm honestly gonna jump on the 933 just because I didn't realize it has 3.5mm compatibility and works on pretty much any device. That makes it a lot easier for me when I'm traveling because I wont need to bring headphones for my phone. It sure would be nice if they had bluetooth capability, though, instead of just RF. I'm ready for a Wifi Direct headset to come out.

i just got some g933s, the 930s game me a rash around the ear after the pleather like material fell off of them because of about a 2 and a half year use. ebay you can get 933s for around 90 dollars if you look closely. they were on sale black friday last year i believe with some other headsets. maybe on release or when this video was made it was certainly unavoidable. now that the price has lowered you can safely pick up a 933 set for 40-50$ more than you'd find the 930s. hope this helps peoples decisions.

Hi Erik, Did you happen to end up getting a pair of these? I am in the exact same boat as you are, even down to the number. I'm on my 4th G930 and it is already breaking in the exact same way the others all have as well. I am seriously considering these because like you said, the audio quality is fantastic, but the build quality is utter trash. Want to get feedback from others who have personally experienced the same issue I have with g930 as to if the 933's seem like they have better build quality or what. Thanks

I feel ya... I didn't know if I could depend on the build quality so I held back. I bought the Turtle Beach z300s, but the plastics failed on that one, too. I ended up going with the A50 Astro. Super spendy at $200, but I use this for work as much as for gaming. I bought refurbished, but with a $30 3rd party guarantee. Things like a mute button, programmable buttons, and the configuration software still shines with the Logitech stuff, but these headphones sound _beautiful_.

my g930's are about 2 years old now beaten to hell snapped in multiple places (from putting them in a bag, or laying on my side with them on) and as far as i can tell the audio quality is the same as new ones. i had huge problems with connection issues 3 seconds out of every ten seconds i couldn't hear anything because i timed out then automatically reconnected themselves but i think i did the fix in the device manifest and it 'helped' but not fully fixed anything and after a while they stopped cutting out in general. it says it running out of battery and then lasts another 4 hours but overall its a very satisfactory headset in my opinion. but if i was going to buy a second pair i would probably opt for the 933's because even though it fixed itself its still a huge issue.

G930 sound drops are related to how much wireless stuff you got around. I game about 3-4 hours a day and I get drops like 3 times per week. Each drop is more or less headset just turns off and on again - reset that lasts about 5-10 seconds. But I understand how this can be annoying to some gamer's when it happens in most vital moment. Sound quality is equally the same but in my opinion G930 deep bass is better and richer at low freq due to its faux leather ear cups giving better seal. When I bought ear cups replacements for my g930's due to faux peeling off I lost a lot of bass somehow...

I found the g930 new at the pawnshop for 45 bucks. Should I pass and get the 930s or the 933? Which sounds better? As in surround sound I'll be using on my gaming laptop.

I use my G930 a lot and have had it for up to 2yrs and the leather is good, although on hot days it draws a lot of sweat and I hate that! I treated mine really really well and all of a sudden it just snapped right where it swivels. Glued it back together and within 2 weeks they broke again. Im getting the G933's this time. Another thing I'd have it wired up for charging while still using them and often it will beep saying its going flat....but.....theyre...connected?? This has happened on two pairs now. Another con is the power button. Omg.....on the G930 its very temperamental, hold it in? Press it quick? Hold it for 10 secs? To power it up your have to do it differently everytime. Very frustrating. Looks like its a slide switch on the G933.....ill have that thanks!

What your paying for is the drivers, aesthetic deisn, RGB's, new style, better mic integration when stored and mostly just modern looks and small user friendly features. Tech is basically about the same

I'd like to object to your statement regarding music listening statement. Whilst these headphones obviously gets their ass whooped by proper audiophile cans dedicated to music, they're still miles ahead of any other gaming headset I have tried in terms of music listening experience.

I might consider buying the G633, but my main problem is the price. at least for now, G933 go for about 260€ G930 180€ and G633 for 190€. fro me it isn't a necessity to have a gaming headset, just a pare of headphones that have a great sound to them, and don't cost like 200€. :D
@Thetechchap9 жыл бұрын
They definitely are very expensive. I'll look into budget options in the future :)
@ingainloggningsnamn7 жыл бұрын
G933 goes for 110 euros atm, G930 goes for 160 euros and G633 is at 100 euros. The thing is, I generally prefer wired headsets over wireless and the G633 seems to be equal to G933 except being wired. I'm not sure what to pick.

How do the ranges compare? i've been using g930 headphones but moved house and am finding the range about two metres short of what I need now, does the G933 use the same dongle transmitter or a different one?
@HughJNess-ly6er8 жыл бұрын
Berakh Hvar how are the g30s? Is the dropout really as bad as everyone says ?
@martinhill73048 жыл бұрын
Didn't seem to be a problem for the first few years I had this pair, getting more frequent now, i'm testing with keeping them plugged into a power brick so it's still plugged in if I walk around, seems to be less frequent, need to do more of the things that caused a dropout though, but that tended to need hectic voice comms situations i've not much been in since starting trying this.

Not that anyone would probably see this but I'm just looking for an upgrade/replacement that isn't very expensive compared to the G930 as the right side of the headset has completely died on me and I have had enough of listening through one ear.
@ThunderKat8 жыл бұрын
Old ones: Battery die fast and is not easy to replace, also they will brake on the ear covers after prolong use time. PD: You can find this issues on forums arround the world...Still for sound quality logitech does great job for the price they have, except for some cheap wireless models like G110 (big fail).

I also have the 930 and they work perfectly fine but am thinking about upgrading to the 933 because I would like something that I can use with my Xbox One for the 30% of the time I game with that. That is really the only reason why I think I'm going to upgrade, even though when on the Xbox One it will be only stereo sound.

Hi, I got G35 Headset for years. I accidently drop the headphone and break it into half. :( So i'm looking forward to G933 but I read the review, the mic isn't that great and there are "Auto sleep mode" that turns off your headset every couple mins. Is that true?? The product has been out for 6 months did they fix it?
@Thetechchap8 жыл бұрын
The mics actually pretty good - and i've heard of that sleep mode but in practice never experienced any issue with it turning off regularly like that.

g 930 don't have a hardware issue , you can change the battery turnoff time by editing one of file in installation folder. logitech should update this issue.but for sound quality, g35 are way better than g930. i think because g35 are wired ones.

The g930 are very unstable on windows 10. I've done all the tricks in the book from changing configs in LGS directory to sorting out wireless conflicts and they still don't work. This problem only happened after installing windows 10 so if you still a windows 7 user then this probably wont be an issue. I will not be investing in anything logitech anymore and choose to rather invest in a new brand. I have several mates online who are having all types of issues with these headphones.
@JohanMJDJ8 жыл бұрын
I have just ordered the G930. G933 are just too expensive. I'd rather risk the dropout issue. I will be paying $70 for the G930, which I feel is perfect. It's even more cheaper on Amazon than in my country (costs about triple where I am, after I've applied the exchange rate. On the second point, headsets are probably the only peripheral I would purchase if it's wireless. I hate having my current Corsair H1400 wire dangling everywhere. Nice comparison, though. Subcribed

I've had the the g930s for 3 years and my brother just got the g933s. The g933s definitely sound better then the the g930s. Neither are studio worthy maybe because of the fact they're wireless but logitech has definitely upgraded the sound quality compared to that of the G930s. Is it worth the upgrade if you already own the 930s? Short answer no, not just for the audio quality. Yet if you're deciding which one to buy right now and sound quality is at the top of your list just below wireless, get the 933s.
