How is this guy not top of review videos. Honestly. He is my all time favourites. I have seen a lot of good reviewers and he is one of the best along with marques brownlee’s. He doesn’t distract you with hand gestures and animation. He reviews with good lexicon and experience. Thank you. :)

Thanks! I agree on the product images and sample screens, I'm learning how to use my video editing software and I will be able to include more of these sorts of things in the future. For now if I can get a video uploaded I consider it a total success. :)

Is the Hub a stand alone product that will work with older Harmony remotes (Harmony One specifically) or is what you're showing a package?

The hub can operate as a stand-alone product which you can control via a smart phone, but I wouldn't recommend that as you don't get a hand-held remote. It works with a remote called the Harmony Elite Universal Remote. This is the bundle: amzn.to/2IFmJSg I don't think it's compatible with the Harmony One, but I would check Logitech's website for more info just to be sure.

I'm not sure, but if you go into the software you can search by manufacturer to see if there are codes for your device.

@@adamm6733 This is info From Reddit about adding Bluetooth Commands, so Your Mileage May Vary: You can use Add Device > Computer > Windows. Ignore the pairing prompts. Then make a new activity with your FireTV and the new Windows Computer. Edit the activity and click Customize Remote. Select the volume keys and map them to Windows Computer VolumeUp and VolumeDown. Now those Bluetooth commands will be sent to your FireTV.

I bought mine years ago and even took tentative footsteps into home automation with their Zigbee 'Hub Extender'. Well, that didn't last long and I was forced to adopt something else *cough*SamsungSmartThings*cough*. The point being that I hope Logitech don't abandon this platform. ...but past activities suggest they will. They seem to have no interest in it. Sorry, but universal remotes seem to be something that everyone wants but can't be made profitable. I love my Hub, but I don't see it lasting much longer.

Good review, but fails to point out one of the only major flaws of the Elite system. The remove does not have a MICROPHONE! Therefore, you need an additional device (which may of may not support the activity you are using) to support speech. For example, I have a Roku Streaming Stick+ which has a simple but effective Microphone that searches its content for viewing options. With the Elite remote, you can do everything that Roku remote can do except speak, so I need to keep my remote out to use it (or add a device like Alexa with all its self-promotion overhead). Not what Harmony is suppose to be.

You're right! I also have the Roku Plus with the mic, but I don't use that feature however so I overlooked it in my review! I use Google Home to add simple voice integration and it works, but it does not replicate the much more complete and useful experience of using the mic on the Roku remote. If that's what you do, then I completely agree that the Harmony Elite cannot replace your Roku Plus remote.

@@isitgoodreviews4095 Thanks for your reply. I find it odd that Harmony doesn't simply add a mic button to their remote and simply do a voice pass-through, but perhaps there are issues I can see (like copyright). Otherwise it is incomprehensibly lazy of them.
