I had the Logitech MX Master for my McBP...I loved one thing about it...the super fast scrolling. However, I couldn’t use any of my pinch and swipe gestures that make a Mac so wonderful...Some I could program into the mouse, but at the expense of using one of the few programmable gestures (and many, like pinch zoom, just aren’t programmable). After about three months with the mouse...at about the time the scroll wheel was getting a bit sluggish as it’s a minor design issue as it will eventually not run as smoothly, to the point where the webpage actually moves a bit when you take your thumb off it, hard to explain, very common problem in forums...I ditched the Logi mouse for the genuine Apple Bluetooth trackpad. I miss the fast scrolling (while it worked...lol), but everything else about the trackpad is better. 😊

I have a question that will answer a lot of doubt I have on getting this mouse. I am low vision, and a Mac user. I use one of the side buttons on my mouse in order to zoom. This looks like accessibility>zoom> modifier key>side mouse button set to the same modifier key>hold key and scroll. Does this set up work with the mouse and software? Thank you!

I think the master is still more comfortable to hold. Not sure why you'd prefer this unless for portability. But I mean the master wouldn't take up that much space either.

I run Parralells on my MacBook pro which enables me to run Windows. I usually will enlarge Windows and the swipe on my apple Magic Mouse between Apple platform and Windows. You can also swipe the track pad but it’s more convenient to swipe the mouse, I have been hesitant to get the Logitech mouses as I’m not sure if I will lose the swiping feature?

Not really sure if the new MagSpeed wheel actually is an improvement, at least for me personally. Instead of side-scrolling, I’ve been using the left/right click on the Anywhere 2S’ scroll-wheel to switch between multiple desktops in task view. I’m not sure if side-scrolling on the Anywhere 3 (scrolling while holding down a side button) will feel as natural, to cycle through my desktops. Is it possible to scroll fast in ratchet mode with SmartShift enabled, by turning the SmartShift sensitivity all the way down? It’s very annoying when hyperscrolling kicks in almost instantly. I really like the scrolling feedback on the 2S. Better or worse on the Anywhere 3?

Hi, My MX Master 3 has gotten sticky because the rubber coating has worn down even though I haven’t used it that much. Does the MX Anywhere 3 have the same rubber coating? I’m looking to get a more compact mouse, and it seems like a good option, but I’d like to avoid the same problem with the coating. Cleaning it doesn’t do the trick, rubbing alcohol supposedly wears down the rubber even more. Thanks for any input!

The Magic Mouse works like the magic keyboard trackpad. The anywhere 2s is an excellent mouse and scrolls well. Not as smooth as the Magic Mouse for sure. He mentions it’s not 100% optimized for the iPad yet like you can’t load the software for the switching feature etc. I love mine and i can’t justify paying 100 for the black Magic Mouse or 79 for the white. I paid 39 for the Anywhere 2s on sale... Take care...

Been using the mx anywhere series for 10+ years for professional apps to gaming. They took away the tilt which adds two additional custom clicks. I use Controllermate and now Steermouse for customization and the tilt adds a lot of useful functionality. This design is like one step backwards in functionality. Disappointing.

Are you still using it? How does it feel after a year? Is the wheel and middle button still working? I'm disgusted by my Logitech G102 - its scrollwheel is made of a rubber that's accumulating body fats soon, so it bloated up and started getting stuck. I tried to clean it (opening the mouse up was a total mess, screws hidden under plastic stickers), but the rubber totally disintegrated. I am a programmer and I have small hands, so those ergonomic trackball and similar Logitech mice might be not good for me.

I have used both and I still prefer the anywhere 2s. Mainly due to anywhere 3 scroll wheel doesn't have enough friction when scrolling even hyper-scroll is turned off, it feels like always a free scroll. Anywhere 3 lost 2 macro buttons, that is the side scroll - which is very useful on the 2s (you can set it up to volume up/down, brightness up/down, etc). Lastly, aesthetically side grips on 2s looks and feel better.

It's not an IR receiver, it's a wireless receiver that works better than Bluetooth. I'm using one right now with my MX Master 2S on my iMac. It's rather a letdown that Logitech haven't bothered to make one for USB-C.

So I bought the mx anywhere 3 for my iPad 8th gen. The mouse works but none of the buttons do anything. I’ve gone through the website and downloaded the files and they are just blank. It brought me to two separate downloads. Neither work. Can someone please help?!

Wish i got this instead of the MX Master 3. That one is a huge chonk and is not as ergonomic to move around as my smaller mouse due to the weight difference and taller design. I really regret buying that and wish i bought this.

Yes, it's great, but it's obviously slower to work on the trackpad in my opinion, no matter what you're used to.

@@darkoss992 It really depends on what you are doing most of the time. If you need to constantly switch between keyboard/mouse/trackpad then trackpad is better, it's closer to the keyboard. But if you click around a lot and never use the keyboard, and you need to point and click quickly (like gaming requires you to) then yeah, mouse is better.

I have the older MX with the receiver and love it compared to my Apple Magic trackpad and my MX Master. It’s my go to. If it ever dies, I’ll pick the new one up. 3 years strong. Worth it to configure the secondary button and scroll wheel.

Disappointed it doesn't come with the wireless dongle. It works so well with a Caldigit USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 dock and my MX Master 3. Simply connect the USB C cable from dock to my MBP, iPad Pro or Surface Pro (with the dongle plugged into one of the USB A ports on the dock) and it automatically connects to the mouse. Why not use the button on the bottom of the mouse to achieve similar? Well this supports more devices, so when one of my daughters or wife "docks" it works automatically too. (Quick tip, simply use the unifying software once to set up the mouse to the dongle and thats it, it just works). It makes it a connect one cable and your sorted option.

Same here, but trackpads have bad ergonomic and put a lot of strain on your hands/wrists as most people are hovering fingers in the air while putting pressure on their wrist. It’ll make you more prone to RSI or Carpal tunnel than a mouse where you can rest your fingers at all times

In my experience it's not any better on Mac. I use the USB receiver on my iMac. Much better than Bluetooth. It seems strange that Apple's own input devices work just fine over Bluetooth, but Logitech's don't.

you are the worst reviewer ever!!! you mist the best feature of this mouse, the one that makes it stand out: you can use it on 3 different computers/tablets at the same time , jumping from one to another and copy/paste files from one to another through the mouse - eg. copy a video from an ipad and paste it on the PC, just like that. It feels you are working on one computer instead of three, and on different OS. How could you miss this???
