Friends, here are some fascinating facts about the kelo wood being milled in this video from chat GPT: "Kelo wood, also known as "kelohonka" in Finnish, refers to naturally dried and weathered pine wood that has been dead for many years, often decades or even centuries. The wood is usually from Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) trees that have died standing in cold climates, typically in the northern regions of Finland, Sweden, and Russia. Here are some key characteristics of kelo wood: Weathered Appearance: Kelo wood has a distinctive silver-gray color due to the natural aging and exposure to the elements. This weathered look is highly valued in various design and architectural projects. Durability: The slow drying process that occurs naturally over many years makes kelo wood extremely durable and resistant to decay. The wood becomes dense and hard, making it an excellent material for construction. Insulation Properties: Kelo wood is known for its excellent insulation properties, making it a popular choice for building log cabins and saunas in cold climates. Aromatic: Even after many years, kelo wood retains a pleasant, resinous scent, which adds to its appeal, especially in saunas. Sustainable: Since kelo wood is harvested from trees that have already died naturally, it is considered an environmentally friendly and sustainable building material. Due to these characteristics, kelo wood is often used in high-end log cabins, saunas, and rustic furniture, particularly in regions where it is readily available."

That's amazing. I have watched all your videos and constantly crave new ones. Imagine how surprised I was when I my browser to this video being uploaded only 30 minutes ago. Can't believe my luck. I have made your cyclone separator (or at least attempted with the limited parts in my country) and absolutely adored your custom circular saw machine. I wish I could put one together just like yours, you are an engineering hero to me.

"Why not just do it the easy way?" is a question asked by people who are very unlikely to ever experience the joy that comes from truly doing it yourself. I find it strange that in this modern age, so many people have become more amenable to taking on easy "DIY" projects but have become entirely disdainful of complex ones. We are here to create and transform. We place part of ourselves into everything we do and many people have been robbed of that opportunity and the drive to explore that part of themselves by modern society. Your channel and Primitive Technology are among the few channels on KZbin that I feel confident are run and entirely driven by real people seeking real joy in their lives.

great to see a new upload, my suggestion for videos would be more build projects, compared to tool making videos. I like everything you guys do, but i love to see the stuff being made. What I am really looking forward to is seeing the cabin insides being cleaned out, decorated, furniture being built, then seeing comfortable in bed with a fire going to keep warm. maybe some cooking in the kitchen. For my camper van conversion I got a log burner called Mini Cyclops. It would be hard to carry such a heavy thing to the cabin, but it would be nice, to provide cooking, boiled water, heat. Also needs good flume and insulation from the cabin wood, heat sheilds and chimney top that prevents rain coming down. Then he'd need a storage place for his chopped wood to feed the fire

Hello, I've been a long time lurker on your videos and I just want to thank you. What I get from this is inspiration to work harder. I've done some woodwork in the past but what inspiration I'm talking about is with my music. I know its strange to say but when I watch you create I feel like I can convert inspiration for motivation towards my projects and that's something I value a lot. I used to watch so much content that wouldn't give me that feeling and then I started finding channels like yours and that all changed for me. I've become more creative and I actually make so much better use of my time now. Even though I can't keep up with everything your showing here due to having a mental disability, I still get more than nearly everything I've watched on youtube over the years. Anyways, sorry I went off there, not sure if I'm making much sense but again, Thank you
