Great video. I sure like watching milling logs. Interesting how you figure out what you can get out of a log. Great job Karen on doing the log sawing and hehe having Boots on. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks so much for the shout out Phil and Karen 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thank you both for your great videos. Interesting and entertaining. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I use to grow a lot of potatoes, but have cut back to the point I grow very few now. 1200 lbs one year. Gave most of them away. But use to be 500 to 600 lbs for an average year. I would keep 200 lbs for our selfs and give the rest away. So, age has caught up with me and I just can’t dig to many potatoes by shovel any more. Sorry for the rambling on, keep up the great videos. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

As a rule if you take away a 1/3 of the width of a log thats about what it will square up to , so say you have a 18 in log take away 1/3 of that an you get 12 in an thats about what it will square up to . As a kid we always went to PEI once in the summer an once in the fall to see family an i can remember digging clams in the summer an taters in the fall good times .

I admire all you do and greatly respect how you took time to explain the benefits of saw logs versus firewood logs. Were I younger, I’d try to emulate all you do. I still will try to pick my game up and get you cutting and splitting. I’ve already missed out on this year’s season of seasoned wood (I have only 5 cords split and dried). It’s my hope over the winter to finish bucking all the logs I do have. Great video. I’ll point out that there’s an interesting contrast between Phil & Andy. I can tell who won “Quiet Mouse” when they were kids lol

Nothing better than sawing up logs. Back in 2004 bought a timberking b20 and still use it today. Buy the sharpener for sure, their easy to set up on a table and let it grind away. Lumber always sells in all seasons.

Karen was milling “ till the cows came home”. Thought it was baby needs a new pair of shoes😂 That’s ok, she’s not only the Beauty of your operation, starting to think she’s the brawn also- got the heavy end of the slabs, she deserves those new shoes. Great business you two have there, relatively free material, turned into premium lumber, quality firewood, as you say, nothing goes to waste. Front yard looks great!! Take care🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great video. I picked up that modification tool, i dragged it out of the weeds. . I dropped it twice loading it on trailer. The things we do to up our game to produce a product quicker and more efficiently. I pulled in parking lot at work and probably 20 of them asked what I was doing. I just told them if you weren’t a wood hound you wouldn’t know. I laughed and laughed,Along with them.

@AllenFamilyFirewood
@AllenFamilyFirewood Жыл бұрын
Its the first time i have put wood in that area so we shall see probably ought to drill out a few sticks on top an fill with black powder just in case . Thats a sure way to find out who stole it . Back in my 20s when i was on the local fire dept we got a call and i remember the guy saying 20 min after he filled his stove there was a huge pow an it blew the stove pipe off an egged out an cracked his stove lol

Thanks for the video we have a lt15 to I know it pushy ez but I have a back problem and we put the electric feed on from woodmizer best thing we have done we cut alot of 16 to 24 feet long maybe think about it with you hand and wife sawing
@AllenFamilyFirewood
@AllenFamilyFirewood Жыл бұрын
Thanks Bud I’ve used a few other lt15 with the power feed . By pushing it I get a better feel for when the blade is getting dull or when I need to slow it down for the wider stuff . All our logs are from tree companies so a lot of them also have nails an dirt on them that really shorten the life span of a blade .
