We really enjoyed having that split force here . Having everything all in one machine and being able to bring it right to the wood is a huge timesaver . We met AJ at the boonvile show in NY this summer and he’s a great guy . We plan to do a video on some of his 1/3 and 1/4 cord bags he gave us to try out . You definitely have a great machine and AJ backs what he sells so that’s a winning combination.

Surprising just how much you can get from just two 4 ft logs

Oak is great wood, but it is heavy. I always enjoyed splitting it when I split by hand, because it splits easy if there are no knots. Oak stacks as nice as it splits. A lot of people don't like to mess with big wood. It is hard but you get so much nice firewood from a piece. If Karen says it counts, it counts.

Just a couple of things that I saw that you already know. First never use that wedge like you did as there are alot of viewers that look to you and duplicate your methods. If that saw was to kick back on you, you could have been hurt but you would have also ruined a good chain. Secondly, that bar is too small for the job but you made it work. We split bigger rounds of water oak down here in the south and use the tractor alot more to move them around. That sure did make some beautiful bundle wood though. really like your videos and watch them more than once. Thank you for showing us the real things.

For yrs with the old splitter that’s how I got a round off when it got stuck . Now with this splitter we added a log stripper but it don’t always work . I’ve since learned to put a block between the round and the stripper to push it off . Most of the time that will work but your right some of the foolish stuff I do probably shouldn’t be in the videos . We definitely don’t want someone getting hurt trying to do some of the foolish I do .

Large oaks make a lot of firewood. A lot of work to make them small enough to handle. Nice job noodling those up, splitting, and staking. I am currently working on some 5 ft diameter pin oak rounds. Makes a lot of wood, but even in 8s there still heavy. Have fun at Paul Buyan! 👍👍

Phil you should cut 90 percent through log then roll it with tractor. No wedges needed no binding etc. Put pallet up knee high on forks so Karen doesn't have lean over when starting a new pallet of stacking when starts get out reach she can always just get in tractor n push lever down none running to finish top layer

Normally i just cut all the way threw i have about a ft of sawdust on the ground there so it wont goofe up the chain much . Some times we do start out with the pallet up higher an then lower it as we go but i was busy splitting when she started stacking .
