Hi Dario 👋 First of all thank you for these videos, even for their length 😏. I'm just starting to use Logseq and I'm still not very clear about my workflow, but I loved your video, I will still watch again GTD with Logseq and I have decided to take your course despite my difficulties with English 😐, because I think it will help me to get organized. One thing i noticed about Logseq is that people tend to input long non saying thoughts, which when formed are not helpful and merely redundant. People use it like talking with people, but in the end, it's cluttered and not focused, nor helpful or well formulated. Somehow Logseq seems to force people to use it like that.
@CombiningMindsPKM3 жыл бұрын
Hey Kongolan - yeah, the unstructured approach can mean that this is one of the outcomes. However, I think if a little bit of structure is added, these "conversations with myself" can be very useful in the future. I think it's more of a default that happens when one encounters a blank page, and not a design feature of Logseq :)

I agree. Most of my struggle with the note taking on logseq was actually learning how to structure and standardize my notes in order to actually make them useful

This is a fantastic introduction. I'm just getting started with Logseq. I appreciate your tutorial series as the written instructions confounded me. Probably because I had no frame of reference to interpret the ideas. I will watch one a day and try to get the hang of it. This is a really brilliant innovation. Did you invent it yourself?

PARA is a great method for organizing stuff that needs to be in folders, like computer files, google docs. I wouldnt like to use it for notes tho. I hast startedwith logseq. It feels nicer to make fleeting notes than obsidian. And using obsidian for more longer form stuff

One thing I don't like about the Logseq, is that when I creates a note about a research paper cited from Zotero by its Zotero Setting, a set of unnecessary notes such as [[attachments]], [[JournalArticle]], always come along with it. I personally don't need them and they always appear in Graph view and there is no way to filter out. I want to modify the Zotero template, so I moved to Obsidian.
@CombiningMindsPKM2 жыл бұрын
I don't work much with Zotero so this isn't something that I've come across - have you asked around on the forums? That being said, Obsidian is also a great tool and if you can get it to work for you that's a great solution 🙂
@FaiziCrofts2 жыл бұрын
How did you achieve the multi-word tag: "#information management"? It doesn't let me do that. I and up with "#information" as a tag, followed by the word "management"
@CombiningMindsPKM2 жыл бұрын
Hey Faizi - if it's multi-word, you have to use the # in combination with [[]] i.e. #[[information management]]

Excited to learn more about logseq. I've been a directory tree optimizer for years, with some success. But it does get hard to manage. I dove into Obsidian, which I really like, but a ton of plugins to learn about. Looking to see whether logseq is the answer!

Thanks Rick, hoping it is the answer for you :) Well done on optimising those directory trees -that's quite a feat in itself.

I have just downloaded desk top Logseq. The difference between Block and Outliners? the way they were put down looked like 2 blocks?
@CombiningMindsPKM2 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert. An outliner is composed of blocks. i.e. each 'bullet point' in an outline is a block.

I am very confused. Obsidian app also can do the same thing whatever you explained. Wonder how is logseq different from obsidian ?
@CombiningMindsPKM2 жыл бұрын
Logseq is an outliner. It is a block-based application that allows you to structure your information in a hierarchy using indenting. Obsidian is a page based application, although you can use plugins to get it to function as an outliner.

In some senses yes, but the combination of outliner + wiki + additional functionality is powerful.
