I was at a performance once at the Bonn Opera and the main cast member was wearing an Elvis outfit and had blue hair. The entire performance was atrocious. The entire audience stood up and jeered at the end. I have never seen that before in the U.S..

I loved the story and music, but am also disappointed that this is the first Wagner production I've watched. The production was quite shameful, especially the costumes. One day I will have to see it again produced more competently
