No one else can sing like this. Put her up even against Lily Pons, for example in the Bell Song, and Ingeborg is still so much lighter and floating. Her voice is like a miracle.

what I think is amazing is that her most frequent top note on this piece is an E but it sounds so much higher; I think due to the clarity and lightness of her voice.

There has been many, many light coloratura sopranos in this world, but most of them were difficult to listen because of their sour/acidic timber and squeaking high notes (Mado Robin for instance). Ingeborg Hallstein is one of the few who were CRYSTAL CLEAR even in the highest notes ever sung. Early Dessay had that too, and I would say these days Sabine Devieilhe also (though not as incredible as Hallstein)

Sigh... her voice is my ASMR ☺ I've always been a sick child. I've had to pass many tests during my life. And I can never get used to blood tests. I'm always anxious and uncomfortable. Maybe it's some kind of phobia because I really can't be reasoned with when it happens. If I see someone coming at me with a needle, I turn into Regan from the Exorcist. 😂 One day I asked the nurse if I could play some music to relax. I played Hallstein's Lakme. I believe it was a video posted by Lohengrin. I know people seldom listen to opera music so I expected to be judged for it. Still I couldn't think of a better song to relax. It worked. And surprisingly the people in the room were mesmerized by it. The nurse commented to me that it should be played for every patient to relax. I was so happy to hear that ! Now I've grown used to play Hallstein's songs whenever I get scared at the hospital. 😊 Hallstein's voice turned my bad experience into a fond memory. I almost regret not being as regularly scared as before haha So thank you, this is a new addition. I'll listen to it next time

J'adore Rita Streich ,et cette cantatrice est tout à fait dans cette lignée ,en mieux .Son registre suraigu est vraiment exceptionnel par sa pureté .N'était elle spécialiste que du répertoire germanique ,ou a t elle chanté du répertoire italien et français ?( Lucia , Somnambula,lakme, Ophélie ,ect.,..)

Hé bien elle ne chante principalement qu'en Allemand. Elle a chanté en Italien quelques fois dans ses débuts. Mais si elle chante des chansons d'un répertoire autre que germanique, c'est leur traduction en Allemand.
