Paint 4 Beautiful Small Watercolour Yuletide cards, loose watercolor Flower Christmas Card Tutorial

/ loisdavidsonart www.etsy.com/u... Today's demo show how to paint 4 similar but different small festive Yuletide/Xmas cards featuring loose florals/seedheads/teazels etc. when finished, simple cut each one out and attach to a piece of card!
I used a limited palette of prussian blue and burnt umber, with some white gouache and white Dr PH Martins bleedproof white ink, but these can of course be done in any colours you prefer, and the same method can be used for more traditional imagery such as Holly, Ivy etc. My board is at an angle of about 45 degrees tilt.
My paper is 100% cotton Saunders Waterford, cold pressed, 140lb/300g weight, 11" x 15"/28cm x 38cm. Thanks for watching, and happy painting!

Had never heard of Teasels, so I found out they are native to Europe, Asia and Northern Africa. As an herb, the roots and leaves are used to heal wounds, arthritis, etc! Thank you for this lovely greeting card idea. Always grateful for your gift of painting.

These are lovely, thank you Lois! They remind me of a piece of waste ground I sometimes walk past which is full of teasels and many other dried flowers. It is a haven for birds that feed on the seeds. They look beautiful in the frost and snow. Now you’ve given me an idea of using them for a loose style painting.
