Loki | 1x1 Glorious Purpose - REACTION!

The Loki series is finally here! And it really started out with a bang. A lot of world building, confusion, humor, character introductions, and some serious character development for Loki himself. It all happened in the span of a very well paced 45 minutes premiere. Extremely entertaining and intriguing so far, we can't wait to see where they take this story!

@@vivianveronn1722 Yes, it would. He only had to know how to got in and out, that’s all. The infinity stones are worthless outside their native universe, but if he would’ve a way of getting out of the TVA, with the stones, he could’ve use them in the main timeline. In a crossover with Marvel and Dc, Darkseid had the Infinity Gauntlet and it was taken from the Marvel Universe to the DC Universe, it failed to work because the stones are worthless outside of their main universe, so for the TVA those are just pretty little stones or like the guy said, their only use is for paperweight. That’s why Loki couldn’t use the Tesseract to get out and he can’t use his magic.

If he tried to get them that way, the TVA themselves would either have stopped hi or they would simply reset what he did and prune the variant of him that got them that way. He was able to use the Infinity stones in our timeline because that was consistent with the flow of time per the "sacred timeline" or the Time-Keepers' dictates. Getting the Infinity stones from your own timelines using your own means and using them - A-okay per the Timekeepers'' dictates. Getting the Infinity stones from OTHER timelines using the quantum realm as a time machine and using them and then returning them to their respective timelines to prevent nasty new branches forming (probably the only reason why the TVA allowed that) also okay. Getting the Infinity stones from the TVA itelf would NOT be.

"Pruning" is the act of cutting away the undesirable bits of a decorative plant or tree. It's what makes a bonsai tree what it is... In the show's parlance, it means to eliminate the branch of time which is found to be anomalous or, more specifically, that which caused the anomaly.

To prune is a weird verb in English because the most common use of the word is the noun “prune” which is like a fruit. The only time I hear the word prune as a verb is for gardening such as “pruning the hedges”. It means to, like, cut in way to fit something. To fit a shape or in this instance, to fit the time line

I love how by the end of this episode, the phrase "burdened with glorious purpose" takes on a whole new meaning. It really *is* a burden for him. I’m with Sonny, I think the Loki fugitive variant is another actor, probably (hopefully) Lady Loki. I also think! That the kid in the church was that or a different Loki variant who had shape-shifted and was messing with Mobius. So he would have brought that gun with him, as opposed to being gifted it. In the comics, the Asgardians aren't true gods, but aliens that were believed to be gods when they visited Earth long ago. They faded into myth when they stopped traveling to Earth. So, in the reality of both the comics and the MCU, it's our myths that get their story wrong. I think that's kinda fun. The Olympian gods are supposed to be getting introduced in the MCU soon, and unlike Asgardians, who are just extremely powerful and long-lived aliens, the Olympians really are deities that never age and cannot die. I'm really looking forward to meeting Hercules... he and Thor are like Dumb and Dumber when they team up. :D

I'm sure Hercules can't be far behind since he's an Avenger that is heavily involved (in the comics anyway) in some of the stories that appear to be getting set up in the films. I'm pretty excited about the possibilities!

Actually, out of the dozens is actors that auditioned for the part of Thor, he was in the final three for Thor: him, Chris and Chris's brother Liam. They cut Liam, then decided Chris was best for Thor and gave the part of Loki to Tom.

Yes, that little pile of "everything Loki has ever said" was probably only what he said since lunch. Tom actually did those trapdoor drops. He did have wires under his clothes to slow him a bit and to keep him from landing wrong and twisting his ankle. He said in an interview that waiting for the trapdoors to open was scarier than the actual drop itself.

i agree with Kat, Loki is 1054 years old and i figured his stack of everything he has ever said would be bigger. This show is going to be very good, the head writer was also a writer for Rick and Morty, his name is Micheal Waldron and he is also writing for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Also if you notice, when the first enter the TVA the Tesseract Dims, hinting at the fact that Infinity stones do not work in the TVA, but Infinity stones only work in their native universe which the TVA is outside of the universe and time.

In the actual mythology Loki brings about Ragnorock. It was his destiny to destroy the gods. Loki wiped out the timeline so the universe could reboot. This version of Loki may not be as remorseful as u think.

It's prob going to be Lady Loki, But imagine how sick it would be if in that alternate universe or whatever Thor/Hemsworth is Loki. Depending on if he's from another Universe or it's the same, but it would be soo sick to see Chris Hemsworth play a super evil Loki and our Loki plays the good one trying to save the day. To me that would be waaay cooler than just another new guy or girl actor playing Loki. Anyway, I hope after it's all said and done they use their time magic to put him back in after the Thanos snap, or maybe keep him as a TVA timecop lol. I have been waiting for this reaction the most because I want to see how actual Scandinavians react to Loki and the MCU version of Norse Mythology. Personally I wish that the MCU would’ve stayed closer to the source material because in both the comics and actual mythology Loki has 3 children of massive significance. Hela was not his sister she was his daughter, Jörmungandr the world serpent was his and Angrboda’s son, and his son Fenrir the wolf (who is Hela’s pet in Ragnarok) is actually the one who kills Odin. Also I hope Disney sells the Infinity Paperweights someday.

Until they directly say otherwise here, I have my own personal headcanon for _fate:_ It isn't that we can't make choices, or that our destiny isn't our own. But rather, we see time with a limited perspective. We see it in a linear fashion.¹ And yet everything is happening at the same time. So, in essence everything that will happen, has already happened. Said headcanon also allows for fortune tellers/psychics.² Watching a second time (even via reaction clips), what *Mobius* says, and especially the questions asked, take on deeper meaning now that we know _who_ they're hunting. Even *Mobius* seems a bit less empathetic now. 🤔🤯 ··•∶✺∶•·· ¹ ─ I guess we can go off in another direction and say time doesn't exist. We're really just measuring _motion._ ² ─ i.e., in stories.

Even dogmatic. While I'm still just spewing a theory out of my. . _.you know,_ it seems a slightly more pragmatic explanation. One could even take my pinhead theory and _still_ apply the *Divine Timeline* label. Particularly when they explain it to lesser beings. Given their limited perspective,¹ it could still hold up. Ultimately, utilizing my theory, one can _still_ call it a *Divine Timeline,* as we are both saying the exact same thing. The only difference is the _perspective_ we take when we *hear* the words _"everything happened as it should happen."_ Are we looking at it in a linear fashion from point A to point B, where point B has yet to be written, so it has yet to _go a certain way?_ Or has it _already gone a certain way?²_ Well, anyway, IMO it's just a matter of perspective. The decisions we make _are ours_ to make. It's just that we've already made them. They cannot be unmade. A multiverse or deviation occurs when something changes that wasn't meant to change. And that's where we get into the _big unknown_ of the MCU.³ Especially as we don't know the _three wise lizards_ criteria for a deviation, as it doesn't seem to be time travel in and of itself. This is a fun discussion, at least until the headaches set in. 🤕 ··•∶●∶•·· ¹ ─ particularly the linear view ² ─ Also, doesn't some foreknowledge of events imply that it _already has happened?_ 🤷🏼‍♂️ ³ ─ Well, clearly that's not the *only* place we get into the unknown, as this entire discussion is like pulling apart a Slinky and then trying to bend it back into its perfect little springy self all by hand. 🤪

We don't yet know enough about the *TVA* and their overlords, _Huey, Dewey_ and _Louie._Their specific criteria, methods and so on are completely unknown to us. I haven't read any comics about the *TVA,* nor do we know if the show is going to follow those closely. I think perhaps we've reached the point where we'll need a little bit more than one episode with a little cartoon. 😏🤷🏼‍♂️ Thanks for the chat though.
