I think the time loop is a brute force machine learning algorithm, powered by mrs minutes. Every lifetime is just to learn the next baby-step. Like when Kang gets stabbed but disappears, because he knows he was going to get stabbed. But then Kang passes that threshold of unprecedented time. If you've ever played an emulator of a video game with save states, you can save every time you successfully complete a single jump or single task, instead of having to restart back at marioland 1. Kang's somehow the one that remains after the loop of time recycles.
@r2dxhate

The time loop is a good way to avoid a time paradox. It allows you to change the past and present and future in an identical descendant universe, without undoing your own creation. Futurama had the episode of cyclical time.

Ke Huy Quan's Ouroboros or OB is a great addition. I thought this S2E1 would be confusing according to all these reviewers but it actually wasn't. It's really an episode that starts where S1E6 left off. And I just finished looping Loki S1 a 6th time or so right before S2 came on, so the end of S1 transitioned smoothly to S2. Loki is actually my favorite series on Disney+ and maybe my favorite for any MCU project. I'm talking more enjoyable than any of the Avengers films and Captain America films. It's so rewatchable. I didn't mention this prior but I love all the gadgets they use. It's so retro circa 1970s. That's already a show in itself with all the items in the background. Go back to the Time Variance Authority cartoon with Miss Minutes in the very first episode. Not only is it very informing, it has artwork from like the 1950s through 1980s. And Miss Minutes herself looks like she was drawn in the 1940s. I don't see the 1920s Felix the Cat inspiration but I do see the Mr. DNA from Jurassic Park. That very first episode of Loki was strong, btw. Can instantly get you hooked. Loki got 10 years of character development in one episode after watching a video of him dying. Perhaps one of the strongest first episodes ever. The Boys S1E1 is right up there as well. That first episode was stronger than a lot of shows' season finales. I'll rank Loki S1 episodes like this: 4, 5, 1, 6, 2, 3. IMDb scores have it similar. Then we got the music which is incredibly brilliant. It feels weird and kinda haunting. Gives you this retro vibe as well like late-70s to early-80s. Watching Flash Gordon (1980) and Tron (1982). And also very original Star Trek from the 60s. Office equipment that look straight out of Brazil (1985). But the color scheme is more like 1970s wardrobe. The little gadgets and computers they use looks so retro. I only recently ordered a hat of the Andor logo from Aliexpress that arrives in two weeks because that's become my favorite Star Wars series but I really need to get some merch for Loki. Like get a TVA jacket that Loki wore in S1E2. Get a Miss Minutes clock. I know Grace Randolph got some good Loki merch two years ago that was sent to her for free. It's weird because Iron Man is my favorite character by far but I personally don't love his individual films. I like them but I don't love them. My favorite MCU films are either Avengers or Captain America (the last 2). While Thor have the worst films but it's my favorite lore with more of my favorite characters like Loki, Thor, Hela, and Mobius. Loki and Thor: Ragnarok go 1-2 for me among all of MCU. I prefer the Thor/Norse mythology. It's more interesting than the modern world Tony Stark lived in where it's just Earth. I loved seeing Asgard the first time I saw it in 2011. I like flying horses and the different weapons which aren't guns. I like sorcery. I like Valkyrie. I think Tessa acts fun in both Thor films she's in. Thor lore has more fascinating places to see. It's Game of Thrones meets Star Wars. As I type this, Loki S2E1 finished so it looped back to playing S1E1. I love the DB Cooper reference. How Loki was him. Even the weakest episode, S1E3 Lamentis, it's really not that bad. It didn't move the story and it's still my least fav, but it doesn't ruin my experience. And there are scenes from it I still enjoyed. It's a really great series. And Loki has become my favorite character post-Endgame with Tony gone. Loki is relatable to me. Loki is a lonely, born loser. Same here. I'm always losing and I'm alone although by choice. So I root for him. Loki is an underdog. And Tom Hiddleston has this endearing quality to his Loki. Loki is like Beavis and Butt-Head but 10x smarter. You want them to succeed but they never do. It's always by fate or maybe bad luck they lose. With B&B, they're just stupid. Their stupidity always sets them back to square one. Tom Hiddleston getting his Midnight in Paris (2011) co-star was a perfect addition. And that film also dealt with time travel. Loki S1E4 with the Lady Sif time loop was hilarious and brilliant. Was also bittersweet. Lady Sif only echoed the loneliness Loki will have. Best scene ever with Lady Sif. Jaimie Alexander deserved better than what she got in Love and Thunder although I still LOL from her parody-like reply about not making Valhalla with her arm cut off: "Oh, shit!" So Monty Python/Naked Gun/Hot Shots!.. Rewatching S1E5 and listening to Richard E. Grant's Classic Loki saying he started missing his brother made me think this 2012 Loki will end up reuniting with present Thor and his new daughter (Chris H's real life daughter). I think it will be very sweet if we watch Thor and Loki reunite in Loki's series finale. I know Chris H and Tom H love working together and remain very close friends. Loki S2E1 moved so much faster than the first two episodes of Ahsoka. Things were happening right away. And it was 45 minutes long. We weren't getting 35 minutes when some Ahsoka episodes deserved to be at least 10 minutes longer. I laughed at least 6 times to things OB said or did within 15 minutes that I never did for Ahsoka's entire run. OB in R&A is Best Buy's Geek Squad but in the basement of the basement of the TVA building. OB isn't even aware what hell is going on up there. The convo with Loki talking to past OB while Mobius is talking to present OB was clever and hilarious like the Lady Sif scene. Thank you, Ke. You gave us a new fan favorite next to Owen's Mobius. "Yeah. I'm having trouble reconciling that." [he repeats it] "Four hundred years." "Believe it or not, he was my last visitor." "Ouroboros. Um, may I call you OB?" "OB? I like that." "Okay, you've got about an hour." [looks back to see something crack the window] "You've got about 5 minutes." "Is this cracked?" [applies tape over the cracked glass] "You're good." "OB! Get ready to see some hoofin' like you've never seen before!" "Okay." [then walks away] I just realized Ke Huy Quan said *wow* four times to Owen Wilson in the R&A. 😂 That's also the first word he ever said in Temple of Doom. "Wow! Holy smoke! Crash landing!" He said wow to Mr. Wow four times. Will Owen say it? Ke is funnier as OB than he was as Short Round and Data. I was worried for S2 because Michael Waldron (of Rick & Morty fame) didn't write it although he's still there to oversee it. I thought maybe they go to a different direction and Loki S2 loses the charm of S1. Nope. S2E1 showed it still got it. Loki scenes happens a lot in those TVA offices. Think Mad Men/The Office meets Bill & Ted. And it's all retro and weird but very interesting. It's world building in that building. Waldron applied great ground rules for the TVA like no superpowers can be used in it. Tesseract sounds dumb according to Casey who also doesn't know what a fish is. Infinity Stones are useless there. TVA operates by its own rules where the outside rules of it won't apply. It can be 400 years and no aging. TVA building is the quiet star of the show but people can still transport to different years and places quicker than a Bill & Ted phone booth. I've seen Loki enough times that the TVA building is it's own character itself. It's similar to LOST with that island. The location can be a character. I'm into movies like Back to the Future, Bill & Ted, and Hot Tub Machine, so I love all the time traveling and weird stuff like how TVA still uses outdated computers. I guess TVA is supposed to look and feel timeless. You're not supposed to pinpoint an era. That's why you see computers that looks like it has MS-DOS, outdated printers, typewriters in the end credits, and handhelds with orange LED lights like a gaming device in the 1970s. Great series. Great visuals, great music, fun characters, great quotes, great world building happening a lot in the TVA offices, and highly rewatchable. Loki will not save MCU. Not one project will. We need a consistent body of work from Disney if they want to regain our trust. But at least we get over a month talking about arguably the best thing MCU has ever made. You got something to talk about for another five weeks, KZbinrs. Disney+ MCU and Star Wars 1. Loki 2. Andor 3. The Mandalorian That's the only three I enjoy rewatching even with Mando S3 being disappointing. I still like WandaVision but it hasn't aged as well if it's just therapy for Wanda. Very unique but not great world building or a great cast of characters I love. I still like WandaVision more than Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett, and every MCU series not named Loki. Favorite Loki Characters 1. Loki Laufeyson 2. Mobius M. Mobius (M stands for Mobius) 3. Ouroboros aka OB 4. Classic Loki 5. Miss Minutes 6. Kang aka He Who Remains 7. Ravonna Renslayer 8. Casey 9. Sylvie 10. Hunter B-15 Apologies to Boastful Loki, Kid Loki, and Alligator Loki for not making my top 10. I can switch around Loki, Mobius, and OB as my No. 1 favorite. All three characters are better than every Ahsoka character not named Baylan Skoll. For all time. Always.

This actually makes sense because as we all know Ravonna was the one who captured sylvie and she doesn't really said what was the reason for sylvie being a variant. I think that He who remains ordered ravonna to capture sylvie because he knows that it is sylvie who will kill him and continue the loop. Edit: The audio recording in the War room maybe hinting at this moment? That ravonna obeyed Kang's order's to capture sylvie. Thus, him winning the multiversal ware and continuing the loop.

pretty sure sylvie is a variant because she just wanted to be a valkyrie instead of the goddess of mischief, as was her "purpose". we see her role playing with the toys in her episode, instead of being up to no good and that goes against what a loki "is"

Loki season one previewing the entire Multiverse Saga was something that occurred to me when it aired two and a half years ago. The only edit I would make to your theory is that the "sacred timeline" is not an endlessly repeating cycle, but a single temporal loop that only seems to repeat for those who are trapped within it (i.e. everybody except Kang/HWR). I also subscribe to your theory that Loki is the central protagonist of the Multiverse Saga as Tony Stark was in the Infinity Saga. It makes a great deal of sense.

The Sacred Timeline. In Season 1, it is described as a single timeline. Now in this ep, it is described a multiple timelines weaved together like a rope. Now making the branched timelines loose strands that are no longer weaved into the rope, instead of alt rogue timelines… At least that’s how I understood it. This is part of what makes telling stories with time travel or multiverses difficult and confusing. I just hope this doesn’t turn into an Enterprise Tempral War kinda mess… S1 was awesome, so there is promise it won’t get that screwed up.

I love your theory and i agree with you. I also think that the sacred timeline links all these universes in a time or causal loop. The time travel has it’s paradoxes and HWR found a way exploit that. He win the war and prevent his variants to change that, even if they travel through time and universes. Everyone is a pawn for him but as a chaotic being, Loki may find a way to understand and change that or at least warn others that the universes are caught in that loop… the next Avenger movie ? 😂😂

Always.

It's a good theory about Oroborous loop and how it's happened before, but how you do explain in the Season 1 finale when He Who Remains reaches the part of his "script" (threshold) where he doesn't know what happens next? This would imply that there is a new breaking point in the Oroborous loop happening in the S1 Finale. IMO.

Maybe all this time loop is a butterfly effect like the MC Donald commercials as He Who Remains is tired of repeating this time loop as he knows everything that will happen as he relived that exact moment for several times. Maybe Nathaniel Richards originally time slipped into the time stream.

Notice it didn’t create a branch time line TVA it just altered the past and future of the one TVA. I wonder if the infinity stones don’t work because they are in a dimension not created by a singularity that grounds the the power time space mind soul and reality of every actual universe. Maybe the TVA is in a pocket universe like the ones they used to torture Loki in

What if it is not a singular timenloop, but a dual one. The TVA has both the hourglass and infinity symbol with dual loops. They converge in the same point, where one decision splits of an entirely different loop. This point could be Loki being pruned, but it might also be whether or not Loki and Sylvi kill immortice, which would explain why immortice could not look beyond (either it happens or it doesn't). A moment where the timeline either unravels or is brought back into a single one (by converging worlds destroying each other and maybe even Battle World). It might be a reach, but it would be a cool direction.

Also I just wanted to add that in Loki Season 1 last episode when He who remains is giving a history lesson of his variants, he mentions the first variant is a scientist that appears on Earth in the 31st century, makes contact with other variants, etc. But when he talks about that variant coming in contact with Alioth, he then changes from 3rd person to 1st person, so I think He Who Remains is actually that first variant from the 31st century.

I agree. If everything happened the same then why create branches? The branches are created outside of the scripted timeline meaning the actions of other characters are not set in stone. If everything was set in stone then there would be no problems, it would be utopia. Eventually free will breaks through which is why the pruning sticks and other weapons exist.

Damn I do hope this builds to something special. It's most likely TVA is and always has been He Who Remain's army. Doesn't make sense for the Council of Kangs to want to have TVA whose sole purpose is to prune the Timeline. Council of Kangs exists because the timeline was allowed to split and create Kang variants. What I don't quite understand was in Season 1 we established that all stuff that is pruned is sent to the Void at the end of time with no way back. However, Mobius was able to using his Tem-Pad. How is this different in this case? Is the time slipping condition changes the outcome of being pruned?
