While Loki hating kindness does make some sense, I personally think that part of Loki taking the fall is that he wants to preserve the peace that Harold created. Even if that peace was based on a lie, it may ultimately be for the best for their children. Provided of course that the threat of the world government is dealt with.

I would say that Mother Carmel uses niceness not kindness. Niceness and being nice is more of a surface level display perceived by others. Kindness and being kind is more of a statement of character being of a sympathetic and helpful nature. A kind person isn't necessarily nice and vice versa. Like the person who does the nice thing when you have a flat tire and no spare saying oh they're sorry about that while really just trying to go about their day vs the kind person who might call you an idiot for not having a spare tire while they go about pulling over with a spare they have and replacing your tire and toddling off.

There’s a recurring theme of most villains following Wapol- of people in high positions and/or have good reputations but as their true characters are cretins that don’t not only deserve such status but also are secretly undermining the people they’re supposed to protect under a facade of benevolence. If Loki was your typical One Piece villain, he would’ve been like our initial impression in Whole Cake- a despot who has the people under his thumb while having a popular reputation to hide his true nature. Instead, he’s presented as a villain from the beginning of the arc and is already imprisoned- red flags to hint he’s more of a heroic underdog who’s pretending to be bad

One thing to take note off about the theory that Harald wasn't as good as it seems, is that the sumonning circle? the shanks look-alike and his comrade used to get on elbaf is in the throne room, right in front of the thorne. While it could just be that, as the guards stated, the castle is empty all the time (even if their own presence on the scene indicate otherwise), who would be best placed to empty the throne room, making sure to be alone in there without looking suspicious? The king himself. I suspect that the sumonning circle could have been there for a long time, and simply as been reactivated now that the world government feels ready to take on elbaf after the changes in policies there.

Note: We didn't have confirmation (by the author) if Loki really ate the Royal fruit. It's said he did it, but we didn't have any confirmation outside of characters assumptions. It's possible the Royal fruit is still safe, and might be eaten by the correct son later, and Loki might have some type of "Tricky fruit" which allowed him to tricky people into thinking he ate the royal one. I believe King Harold was overly kind, Loki grew up in a lovely family, and at the time this environment led Loki to propose to Lola. However, Harold's kindness is what led to his murder, likely by the hands of the God Knights to get his fruit, and as an escape plan Loki chose to get the nearest fruit and eat it, to not allow the fruit to go to the hands of the God Knights. The situation might be complicated, and in order to protect Harold's memory and honor as a proud warrior of Elbaph, Loki chose to shut up about this topic and take all the blame. In mythology, Loki is known for playing tricks in others, so we can't take his word as face value. About Carmel, it's possible King Harold, being innocent, wasn't aware of what exactly she was doing. Big Mom, result of that story, isn't in good terms with Elbaph.

I think the Holy Knights are going to release him and get him to try to take over Elbaf, which he will do with the best intentions, and he will fight the straw hats but eventually will refuse an order from the Holy Knights and will then either be killed or team up with the Straw Hats to fight the Holy Knights.

Here's my theory, Loki was framed for the murder of his father by "Shawshanks", and he thought it was shanks (he witnessed the murder) which is why he said he wants to kill him. But when "Shawshanks" killed his father he managed to eat his father's devil fruit and because "shawshanks" probably teleported out, causing people to think Loki killed his dad for the devil fruit... because the royal devil fruit can cause Ragnarok which the world government wanted it to shape the world in emu's vision. there will be a major Evil shanks story. but it seems to be on point at this point. also this seems very oda-ish give someone who would never hurt anyone the ability to destroy the world, and frame them for murder to make everyone hate them because of their power. also set them up against a loved character to only find out they only met the evil version and their anger was misplaced. forgive my punctuation..

What if she ran the orphanage back in the day really out of kindness, then ate the fruit and it twisted her soul as a result? Hey GLR and anyone reading, I was rereading 1134 and noticed the transponder snail at the end of the chapter appears to have a big beard. Not too unlike Jaruls. Jarul comes from a time when Elbaph was a warrior nation and he may have been against where King Harold was leading them. It would make sense for him to want violence/traditional values considering his grudge against Big Mom and his age. Maybe Shaggy is Jarul, using a code name as too not be detected.
