Since his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe more than a decade ago in 2011’s Thor, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has stood out as a super charismatic villain in a sea of less-than-charismatic Marvel villains. Watching the show, I felt like it was a bit of a missed opportunity the way they had him simply watch a video in order to retcon him into being the Loki we saw at the start of Infinity War. I’d have liked to have seen a whole show featuring asshole Loki travelling through the space-time continuum on a bunch of crazy, morally ambiguous adventures where maybe by the _end_ he learns a couple of life lessons. But I guess that’s not the direction they wanted to go in.

Unless they’re going to explain that something else happened right at that same time that would have stopped the apocalypse, it seems like lazy writing.
