Loki Review season 2 episode 1 where Disney prove their purchase was worth the money. Disney+ tells a story of Loki exploring time that doesn't really make sense and comedy that I know is meant to be there but can't actually find. Honestly, I'm not sure why this episode existed, except to advertise. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

I Enjoyed this show. Everything makes sense so far. I can answer almost every question you bring up (aside from him running Right and Teleporting left) They just need to stick the landing with the Finale, Disney has a MASSIVE problem with that. Wandavision would have been great had it not been for the last (or next to last) episode. after watching Ahsoka, it's nice to see a group of actors that can ACT. Even the Annoying Hunter B16, You can tell what she's thinking when that old gram did that with the 20 year old guy. If they can build on this opening and not fuck up the story at some point i'll find this acceptable. This Loki isn't the Loki we saw in end-game and i can BUY that having all of his power stripped away(because he can't use it in the Null-Zone) and then being told by Mobius "You can be anything you want, even a good person" something hes never really heard before, I honestly believe it formed a friendship to someone, outside of Thor (and only when he did bad things) did he get attention. Thats just the way I see it as of right now. Lets see if they can keep this up in the next episode.

What the machine room for branches means is that Kang linked all the rooms initially to stop branches. Then in a situation normal controllable situations occur he sends the tva. So no one needs to know what this room does because it's now on autopilot. So how does this scene make sense if someone at the tva knows how timelines are synched and not know about the multiverses currently active? 😂 You can only sync people using the room which means they have to somehow know about Kang... or how they track what people say/do into documentation...

It's very hard to make a powerful person weak in stead of someone else, especially when they've already displayed great power in his earlier continuity. Even getting the infinity gems and going into a different timeline with them wouldn't do anything, each of those come from a different reality that doesn't even exist anymore. I'm not sure why you think the failing of "She Hulk" should lead Disney to end the whole MCU. It's not very reasonable to demand that every time a failure occurs, the whole venture behind it just comes to a halt. Should people that fail an exam or three just quit college altogether, or should they study better? What you're saying makes no sense. And you know, for someone that calls other grown men "kid" on the internet you don't seem to have a very grown up understanding of money and companies. For example, Disney is a company consisting of many daughter companies under its umbrella, as well as owning "external" companies like Marvel. The only defense for Loki season 1 is that the writers were unaware of the horrible moral repercussions of the TVA's daily operations. Thanks to season 2 we know that the writers were aware, they just correctly assumed the vast majority of the audience wouldn't engage with that morality. These writers are despicable people!!!!
@MoonPhantom Жыл бұрын
It also could be that they honestly weren't thinking about it, and then DUE to the big fan criticism they went. "Oh." and then they changed it for season 2. I mean it was addressed a little bit in season 1 that this was a bad thing, but they seemed to really really try to brush it under the carpet. And justify it with "It's to avoid the war." narrative. But now it seems like they realize they really can't get away with not addressing it because fans are like. "Eeerh... What? These people keep committing mass genocide."

@marhawkman303 Жыл бұрын
That or the writers fall into the trap that so many writers before them do... they throw out big ideas... THEN after writing them realize just how morally repugnant they are. It's like how with most clone stories all the clones die. A common trope is for the clones to not be 100% viable as organisms and thus die on their own, this gets used so much because the writers feel the need to get rid of them all. Spider-Man has to fight an evil clone this week, but next week the clone won't exist any more. the thing with the TVA is the writers came up with the one true right timeline idea as being the foundation of why they're erasing alternate timelines, but they don't really establish WHY it's the "right" one. DBZ did better there.... the right timeline in DBZ is the one where the universe hasn't been destroyed by gods from a different dimension!

That is the funniest shit to me too I keep pointing out. Marvel always had a mostly male audience, except for ONE of the title Franchises... It was Thor. Loads of women watched these movies for them, specifically. And then when Marvel tried to appeal to women by introducing middle aged, frompy, always angry, female leads... It didn't work! Nobody liked it! Not only did they lose a large portion of their male audience. They actually also lost the FEMALE audience they had! The female Audience didn't WANT Natalie Portman cosplaying as Thor. What they wanted was more Thor and Loki! What they wanted was Loki to actually interact with the Avengers in infinity war and End Game! Women.... Like hot charismatic men! That's how Marvel managed to get so many women interested in the first place! And hell... men actually really like hot charismatic women on screen! It's just that the women they hire for these newer movies are not hot, are not charismatic, and are honestly just repellent to any normal person of any gender. You can do it well. As long you don't give a certain character simple powers that allows them to travel whatever, whenever but instead, apply rules set to your universe so that it makes sense for the audience and the characters. I wrote myself a fantasy story once many years ago which I might continue on again someday, and within that story, time travel only happens one time, and only a few characters have the ability to do ''something'' with time, but they cannot simply control it whenever they feel like it. By putting rules upon them and their powers in a good way, you create a realistic feeling of the situation your characters are in and that makes it more believable. Now if you look at Marvel or DC, no, Mortal Kombat even, characters can just come and go whenever they feel like it and it always does, because the writers behind these stories can't let go of their characters. In my eyes, once a character is dead, it's dead forever. But these writers keep bringing these characters back, with a lot of fundamental changes that ruins the character, or, it's the exact same one but appears...for no reason because fans/viewers like these characters or the writers cannot simply state that they are dead. That is what you're right about. That doesn't apply any suspense to their stories, because why take it seriously? They will appear in the next volume anyway so as a fan, you simply do not care about these heroes anymore and it seriously needs to stop. Oh, and the whole multiverse bull killed a lot of franchises anyway. Character 304 died in universe 294? Well there are other 4000 universes so, just replace it with character 289423 and act like it was the old one.

@dronesclubhighjinks Жыл бұрын
Thank you for introducing me to this term! I had never heard it before. They also did this in the She-Hulk finale but the showrunner Jessica Gao thought it was amazingly clever. Then, again, she thought the show was really good, and that the bathroom scene in the first episode was a masterpiece. She was wrong on all three counts. I could imagine British comedy utilizing lampshading in an actually witty manner. As a matter of fact, I believe in Blackadder 3, in the episode (Amy & Amiability) in which broke Prince George needs to marry a rich industrialist's daughter, Blackadder ends up wanting to elope with a legendary highwayman, who had turned out to be a pretty woman. He stole all of Prince George's valuables to bring to their meeting place. The lady then robs some at gunpoint. I think she ties him up and goes away for a little bit. Blackadder says, "Oh, God. What a way to die. Shot by a tran svest¡te on an unrealistic grassy knoll." I don't know if that counts, but it was very funny!

I know there were breaks in filming due to the pandemic and strikes but come on..I *did* read that the producers of the show said that they wanted to ‘knock down Tom Hiddleston a peg or two so that Sylvie could shine.’ He’s not the only one who was told to ‘hold back’ and ‘restrain himself,’ Ray Winstone from Black Widow said that he was told to ‘dial it down.’ 🙄

Well the nice thing about this is that I honestly feel like my fanfictions are better at sticking true to characters. In my fanfictions, Loki is a manipulative asshole, who manipulates people for his own self-interest and is kind of a self-absorbed narcissist... Because I was just like... well yeah. That's what Loki is. And that is what made him FUN in the first place. I was able to make him a protagonist by knowing he is more of a neutral than evil, he still has a sense of self-preservation and wants Asgard to succeed. So if the entire universe is at stake, or Asgard, he has reason to act to defend it... But will do so through HIS tactics of manipulation and being very self-satisfied when he outsmarts someone. His biggest flaw is his own narcissism. And that to me could lead to some funny situations where Loki thought he won and made the mistake on resting on the laurels, allowing somebody else to blindside him.

This is all I want for a Loki serie, not this timeline crap
@Iron-Bridge Жыл бұрын
As a long time comic reader ( when the writing was actually good, 😄), this perfectly captures the essence of the character. He might do heroic things at times but it's in the name of self interest or circumstances forcing him to do so. Him being a scheming narcissistic trickster is what makes him a fun villain. Acts Of Vengeance is my favourite long form storyline with him as the main villain, even if he's mostly behind the scenes in the beginning.
@MoonPhantom Жыл бұрын
@@Iron-Bridge I know right. And it's not like the MCU hasn't given me plenty of reasons why Loki would team up with the heroes. Would Loki want revenge against Thanos who captured him, tortured him, and used him as a servant and scapegoat for his own means? Not only that Thanos is a threat to both the universe and Asgard. I... DUH! Of course, Loki would want revenge, he doesn't need any more motivation than that. We don't even need the second bit about being a threat to the universe. And what makes it interesting is what lengths he would go to get that revenge that the heroes wouldn't, and yet he could be very useful to them as he has skills and information they don't. It's writing itself! And if I were to write THIS Show, this show where a Loki is pulled out of the Timeline, enters the TVA out of time, and learns about the timelines and Kang and all of that... What I would personally write is this. .... Loki would try to take the whole thing over, become the new god of the entire multi-verse, challenge Kang, and he can even justify his actions with. "Oh if I am on the top, it will be better than if Kang is, because I am a benevolent god who will make things better. Every universe just needs a statue of me straight in the middle there. I won't genocide everybody, then there will be nobody to rule, so because I actually do want to protect these timelines of me worshippers, that by defacto makes ME the better option. So I'm gonna go out take out Kang. Be the new god. Walk around and gloat to different Thors that I am legit a better god than he ever was or will be." I mean hell, I can see him pop up into multiple different timelines when he is bored, take out Thanos in glorious fashion for all to see and go. "Look at me I'm the best! I'm your savior! Worship me!" Hell the real plot would be when Loki starts to get really bored of it all when he finally has it and there's nothing to really challenge him.

There are ways to make time travel have consequences. One of my favourites is Re:Zero. Basically to sum it up. The only time the main character can go back is when he dies and surprise death is not painless. So if he ever makes a mistake or needs to go back he has to well ya know. He also then has to relive the memories of dying however it happened. Imagine having the memory and remembering the pain of dying or being tortured to death or watching friends and loved ones dying in front of your eyes. This isn't a power the main character wants to abuse. There are other problems such as he can't choose how far back he goes. So if someone dies and he doesn't know about it and he reaches a checkpoint as it were then he can't just go back and save them. There are real consequences in the story not just from death but from his own choices.
@MoonPhantom Жыл бұрын
Steins Gate... That one is an AMAZING and heart breaking time Travel show. Though that one works differently. Basically in that show, there is a point in time where the main character's best friend dies. First she is shot to dead. Then the main character travels back to save her, only for her to die again, at the exact same time though through a different way. And again... and yet again. And no matter how many times he tries to travel back and save her through different means. She keeps dying. And the main character realizes he basically has to undo ALL previous changes he made to the timeline to undo her death. So he just keeps traveling over and over and over, to figure out what was different and resolve it, and use knowledge from his other travels to resolve the issues. And of course, his friends never remember what actually happened in the previous jump. Ending with a very clever time travel twist I won't spoil, but it's there. It's a VERY good anime.
@MajorSmurf Жыл бұрын
@@MoonPhantom Yep that is indeed a good one. I also quite enjoyed Vivy's and Summertime Rendering's take on time travel. The ending of both is a little weaker then Steins gate but good shows overall. So you are basically pulling THAT copy of yourself to the present, so the TVA exists at the end of time (because that is where you are sent). Then, the extractor Pulls you out of the timeline and places you at the TVA instead of at the end of time. So basically, if someone else was pruned Between Mobius and Loki getting pruned they would have been pulled instead of Loki, but since they stopped punning timelines it would make sense that Loki would be pulled. Depends on the time travel mechanic. For something like Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and timeturners, that is absolutely the case. Buckbeak never died, Harry always saved himself and the others on the lake shore, etc. For something like Back to the Future, changes in the past change the present/future. Usually the time traveler is insulated from these changes (Marty McFly remembers his original timeline, not the new one) simply by being a time traveler through timey-whimey reasons. There was a very interesting lecture of the differences between these two time travel mechanics here on KZbin years and years ago. But then the "live on their fat ass" plebs could not be subjugated to mentally retarded Jooish controlled "fake gods" like Loki. Bread and circuses like this, provide them the distraction so they could secretly annihilate the middle east to bring about their revelation or "final solution" of world domination while less people pay attention. What's relevant is their lack of effort in actually hiding it. Also if they confuse you enough, they can make evil good and good evil so that the plebs will follow the antichrist. Sorry didn't mean to get so deep, but once you know you can never forget. Much like the Matrix, they want you to remain in it

I must have watched this 30 times. Everytime Disparu gets to 7:50 "Yeah, it's probably nothing. Someone was just Screaming and then disappeared down the hall.. It's probably someone elses problem now." I laugh so hard it hurts

It's ironic that Kang is the perfect Villain for these lame writers though. They can just write him getting defeated like they do with every villain right out the gate, and it won't matter cause there's infinite of him.
