The Golden Keys Special Stage, on every 1st stage, is a race to the goal, on every 2nd stage, Chaos Emerald Chase, The quicker you get, the more 1-ups you get.

If you ever play this again I have some advice they don’t tell you in the game. I played this game on the Ps2 so I’m just gonna use that for reference. When team Sonic use their ultimate Sonic for a short time can use a special move when around enemies by jumping and then pressing square/The action button. The Chaotix get extra rings for every enemy they kill with their ultimates so you can potentially gather hundreds of rings with them I’ve done it before. Amy can fly for a short time if you hold the jump button and can go even father if you use her tornado after wards. The special stages every time you boost the emeralds boost too so you’re supposed to hold the boost button instead of rapidly hitting the button that way you build up speed. Finally each character has 3 levels of power. They’re at their strongest especially Knuckles at their level 3’s and sonic can homing attack on poles once he’s at level 3. Also if you want to get off walls as Sonic you can press the square/action button making Sonic flip off the walls Hope this is helpful

@@sheriefwoodard8686 And Shadow too, on the Triangle jump(especially in his homegame "Shadow the hedgehog" and he can run during the Triangle-Jump, Amy can't for some reason(cuz she's a girl), and knowing Espio a ninja, he'll stick forever. Team Dark Ultimate, is in the name. Chaos Control- Blaster Team Rose Ultimate, Explosive Blossom- Flower pedals spread throughout the screen, with a bonus you get a bubble shield and invincibility star together. Note- Executing the Team Blast as Amy/Cream, they will sing, right before the explosion.

quick pro tip: regarding the keys, if you hold on to them until the end of the stage you'll get taken to a bonus stage. finishing act 1 with the keys will take you to the regular bonus stage, while finishing act 2 with them will take you to the special stage (getting hit while holding a key will cause you to drop it, so be careful) also VERY IMPORTANT: you only need to collect the emeralds with one team to unlock the final story,so dont stress if you miss them, and its easiest to get the emeralds with team rose (like so he can see)

The Slippery Controls made open level design kinda okay, it was just weird with the platforming and turning. When you get used to it, speedrunning is hella fun though

I replayed this game a thousand times and I can say that it's peak Sonic, the ost slaps and the true final boss is so badass.

this is my favorite sonic game of all time tbh, but the final boss was only great on spectacle tbh, he looked cool, and the arena and music was amazing but it was just spam abilities and gather rings until a team blast

If you continue to play this, know that the Team Blast has an additional effect in addition to being a screen nuke. Team Sonic: Temporarily lets you use Sonic’s “Light Speed Attack”. Which is basically another screen nuke like team blast but with shorter activation range. Pretty much any mid-air attack involving Sonic that isn’t a standard homing attack triggers it. Team Dark: Temporarily stops time. Not only do enemies freeze, but the clock stops counting and some proximity based level events and objects won’t trigger. Team Rose: Grants one of every power up. Leveling up all three team members, boosting speed, making you invincible, and even granting a shield for after the invincibility ends. Team Chaotix: Arguably the best one. You will temporarily be awarded a set of 5, 10, or even 20 rings at random for every enemy you kill (including with the team blast itself). With enough enemies in quick succession and a little luck, you can effectively string team blasts together one after the other.

It's better to just use the Tornado attack on team battles instead of homing attacks. I heard of a glitch that you can use to fill the Team Blast gauge faster, too.

I'd love to see you get through the whole game like this. One thing to note for bosses and tougher enemies, Knuckles does 3X the damage of Sonic by default, depending on level ups. And stages will only get longer, which is something I loved. Sorry about your Power Plant experience, that one is actually one of my absolute favorite levels in the franchise 😅

It was about that point, I too decided the game was bad, and for the longest time could not progress past that reactor, meaning I could only finish with Rose and Chaotix, and never knew the last story existed for about 10 years. Looking back, it's nice to see an actual 3D sonic game again, but I cannot enjoy the playstyle past the opening levels.

Heroes was simple, but it was fun, for the most part. The early stages flowed so damn well. And the endgame stages were... a bit irritating, but still enjoyable. Mystic mansion probably being the lowest point among a bunch of high notes. Especially Team Chaotix's version. I'm down to see a part 2 of this, dude. But feel free to enjoy it even off-camera. The multiplayer may not be quite up to SA2:B standards, but it's still one hell of a ride.

its the controls and mechanics people have issues with the most. its a skill issue if you ask me. once mastered, this game is a blast. i would argue to the day i die sonic heroes is a very fun unique 3d platformer. edit: holding the boost button instead of spamming makes u go faster and uses slightly less boost meter.

This game is awesome. I played it when I was a kid in the PS2, the worst version apparently. It's really good, a lot of charm and good... most parts. The Jungle and Haunted House stages are not good and the rails are... questionable (don't know if they're better in PC) BUT they're good. Also... hate to tell you this: But Team Sonic is the weakest team with their Team Blast Attack. That honor goes to either Team Rose or Team...Chaotix. I'm not joking! YOU could say Team Dark but like... those other two teams are busted. Hope you play more of Heroes. Advise, only go after the Chaos Emeralds as Team Rose. TRUST ME.
