Mainly the difference between these and something intended for stills that happens to shoot 4k video as an extra feature. Things are starting to go 8k but there will have to be a massive leap in design to get that in place.

Lok: This is the best overall review I have seen of this E2C camera ! I pulled the trigger on an E2C model ZCAM, and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I will also do a review on the E2C as soon as I have mine in hand :) I think the ZCAM E2C is the best value for the lowest cash outlay around.

Thank you so much for this comprehensive review. Is there any lens that can have the zoom controlled through the camera?

So, I remember in my days of using camcorders, I always picked the ones that could be plugged in while also charging the battery. Unfortunately, not a lot were designed that way, and now that I use Canon DSLRs/mirrorless, none of the ones I have can do that. As a matter of fact, many didn't even come with a wall adapter, which was my first disappointment, the second being how expensive the adapters were. I know they are still image devices first and video recorders second, but it makes me wonder if it really would cost that much to have these features.

I think 2-3 of these could make a really great studio setup for live and KZbin.

And over twice the price. Native lens options are limited and expensive, although that will get better.

If you aren't running long zoom lenses then sensor size is more important. But if you want the ability to take long shots without costing a fortune then keeping the sensor smaller make the lenses cheaper.
