thx for sharing your shoulder rig set up. since december i am filming with the F6 but i am still looking for a faster solution, for changing from shoulder rig to gimbal in less then two minutes. this was the reason, i prefer z cam over other brands like Canon / Sony. If my work would depend on shoulder work only, i won't go for z-cam but for a regular camera like canon c200. then you have all benefits just inside one body and save money, weight and time

Try putting in the NPF within the nitze cage, so you can hot swap the v mounts. The camera will draw power from the v mount first. I use that all the time and it really speeds things up on set. My first AC really loves it.

Hey man you are using an “e2c” I suppose....I am looking to pick one up myself but I haven’t really found a lot of people or lot of stuff regarding it... I mainly want it for some short films I have planned... but my problem is there in no 120 FPS even for 1080p... but if I am only shooting at 24fps most of the time I feel like I really don’t need it but it’s always a plus to have... I have Nikon lenses I might need to invest in few.... Mirco 4/3 do you think it will be good considering you are using it ?
@eulogiomaldonadojr67744 жыл бұрын
kodavana aakanksh hey brother, I really bought the e2c for its price point. You can’t beat a 799.99 price for a micro 4/3 cinema cam. having it not shoot 120fps even at 1080p is not a deal breaker for me. It’s compact, very buildable, can be used for multi cam scenarios utilizing the rj45 network port, shoots pro res in certain modes etc...... the wedding has been since postpone, so I never got to use it for that. Anyways, it’s a damn good starter cam if money is tight. Hope that helps

I'm looking into z cam and rigging it out, but for me I'd go with a manual follow focus attached to the base rails. It works for me and my sony setup and shorter handles so that when you do pull focus the weight is still distributed somewhat evenly. My biggest decision might be monitor vs EVF - I think monitor simply because of the ability to shoot low and even holding the top handle. I like the idea of minimizing power consumption needs. Camera, monitor, that's it. But that's just my preference. I'm going to go with shape so I can put one of the handles against my gut here and there for relief which is a nice tip I learned a few years ago. Anyway I appreciate the video.

We're fortunate to have so many options. Camera, EVF, hardware - there are multiple companies with good products in these areas.

The power delivery system and the adaptors are ingenious. So you can have a battery attached and also have the v mount battery behind? What's the box they all connect to before it connects to the camera to provide power? Is it listed in the description too? Very informative video.

Do you ever find that you want that EVF mounted to the cage instead of that baseplate? The only cage I can find with a rosette on the left side is the tilta. What would you recommend if I wanted to set it up this way?

Thanks for sharing. A few Q's. Have you had any dropped frames or camera errors while shooting. In terms of reliability. Also, and this is something you have to kinda test. Does the camera stop recording when the HDMI cable/monitor is disconnected? Thanks.

Nice rig. I read your review of the PORTKEYS OEYE-3G, and hope they would revise this with a quieter fan. Other than the fan noise, how do you like it? BTW, I highly recommend the Tilta focus grip over the Nano focus wheel. The focus grip is sooooo much more ergonomic and offers a few extra features that will make your life easier.

Hi, thanks for the vid. Like your solutions here. We share some similar choices. -- Do you have issues ever with your Tilta Nano ff? I purchased one new in Nov from B&H and it appears to go bonkers, and has from the get-go. Perhaps I just got a bum unit... thanks your thoughts.

Flannel Ninja Thanks. I was powering the motor from v-mount, but not the hand unit. It's much improved, powering the handle from external pwr, as well? I'll consider that.

How long have you been shooting with the Z-cam e2 F6? Is it's software compatible with Mac? What is the workflow like on that camera?

@@FlannelNinjaTech which converter are you using for transcoding h265 to prores? and: whats the reason you are using this 8k workflow? usually, i would never advise to upscale footage from 6k to 8k and then again let yt downscale it? the only thing i might expect from this workflow are aliasing issues which will result from pixel remapping.

Everyone can use a gimbal it takes no skills. Nobody will hire you for that. A shoulder rig is supperb, such a natural flow of the movement, it's great. Also, a steady cam is what you want instead of a gimbal, imo
