I do believe this video was all one take. Al had to run down the stair case and change while the camera slowly went down in the elevator. When he performed this live (at the show I saw) he wandered off the stage, into the crowd, out into the theater lobby, and back up to the stage over some audience members; with the camera following behind the whole time.

The last concert I saw of Weird Al was at a huge state fair...they get all types of artist there. They had Billy Idol there once...Anyway, Al started out the show With Tacky and he had a huge monitor on the back of the stage...no one could find him but he started singing...Then all of a sudden you see on screen his tour bus behind the stage and he's strutting out in really tacky clothes...Then it shows him strutting all around the fairgrounds and the outdoor area the stage was at...then all of a sudden the screen stops and straight down the middle of the audience he comes strutting up to the stage on a red carpet...It was way too funny!... We all say he's a comedy genius...but he can also really sing...Him and his band (at the end of The Saga Begins) started Scatting (imagine Freddy Mercury scat part in Another One Bites the Dust mixed with that song by Scatman John with allot of Star Wars refrences)...it sounded really good!... They all dressed up for each song and played wacky videos on each costume change called AL TV! 🤣... He actually had a show on MTV called AL TV where he would do fake celebrity interviews and green screen himself into an interview...I remember one were he was "interviewing" celebs on the red carpet and each time you went back to him asking a question he was interviewing from behind the dumpsters but the celebs were on the red carpet. 🤣... Loved him ever since the first time I saw LIKE A SURGEON back on MTV...That was 1984! 😎😎😎
