LOLA Camera Review: They Tricked me.

Was pretty disturbed when I first saw the ads popped up on my Instagram. Selling what essentially just a stand along webcam with a screen to people for $110 when there's so many good old digital compacts out there rotting in a Goodwill for less than $50 or even $20 is peak consumerism. This video need to get more attention before more people fall for their deceptive marketing.

Your the only video I could find this camera on. I was eyeing this camera and looking at the results they show on their page and it looked a little too good to be true for their models. I've been waiting to see results and thankfully you were here to show the real deal. If it was cheaper maybe I would buy one but I'd rather go buy an old actual digicam or use a campsnap. The reason why I say the camps snap is because they have been actually evolving their cameras from the 101 to 103 based off community feedback like adding a wrist strap, setting the time/date, changing the counter color, less shutter delay, different camera model inside that takes slightly better low light.

The Lola is a big fat disappointment. What's crazy to me is that there's DOZENS of companies selling these Temu cameras with their own labeling right now. It hardly seems legal lol I just snagged the new camp snap so that video should be out this coming week!

@@MattsNotes awesome I'll be looking forward to the video to it. Funny thing is now their camp snap knock offs now one I saw is called the retro snap. I had to convince my friend to not get the Lola camera because it's legit the same camera on temu and the one Walmart sales in electronics under vivtar for $20-25.

Bro they tricked me too! The advertising is so good it sold me, but after looking at their page it seems like they barely have any photos of the pics the camera takes. I'm convinced that the photos they do have were taken with a different camera. I'm so disappointed. I paid $98!! Definitely gonna dispute 😡

Everyone calls me a hater but it saved me A LOT of money by not falling for gimmicks and advertisements that rely on trending aesthetics and styles. It's tempting but so is saving money lol.

I had to stop someone, before they bought a camera like this. I ended up buying them a great little old new in the stock Samsung camera that was absolutely superior to these "China knock offs" The person loves it and uses it everywhere, given the horrible specs of the camera you showed, I could imagine a person being frustrated with it. Even if they are only posting on TikTok, Really sad, I have collected several digicams from thrift shops and yard sales, that I could use as an everyday camera and I spent less than $20.00 on most of them. I'm glad you stopped someone from buying something like this! I've been getting targeted ads for many iterations of these cheap Amazon/Temu type cameras as of late. Although there is some cool novelty cameras out there, this is one of the many disappointing camera cash grabs in recent times that I'd love to put on blast

That "2.7k" video footage the Lola produced was so buttery smooth and crisp. 😆 A fun review and a cautionary tale rolled up into one. Hoping to see you review and shoot some point and shoot Nikons, Canon Powershots (G series), etc in the future in this same vein!

Thank you for your comment! I haven't done a tutorial yet but I'd consider it in the soon future :) The BIGGEST things I'd recommend with using the Lola: 1. Shoot with the sun or light source BEHIND you, or off to the side. This would improve overall color quality of the image as the Lola doesn't do well "backlit" 2. Keep the horizon line as straight as a person can! Just to keep the composition of the image nice and tidy. 3. A good editing program always helps! Even just the free phone apps like photoshop on the app store, or lightroom are great choices. I hope this helps! I'll plan out some sort of video for cameras like this Lola!

I'm so glad I watched this. I was wondering if you could make a review on the ten pocket cameras. I keep reading mixed reviews, some saying they are brilliant and others claim they are a complete scam. I haven't been able to find any honest, unsponsored, reviews of the camera and none at all on KZbin. It definitely has me intrigued.

Thanks for your comment! I'd be open to trying one out and I'll keep my eyes out for one. From the looks of it and a little scrounging on the internet, I am almost certain it's just another cheap temu/aliexpress mass produced junk camera with a "company label" slapped on the front, and shipped to influencers/affiliates. I'd honestly just get a camp snap camera or an old 2010s digicam instead if youre in that market!

Well your photos look decent. It’s a marketing thing. You can spend $100 on a nice old vintage digital camera and have a lens failure or a battery die soon or not get a charger with it etc. I can understand the appeal for some. Not for me because I love the hunt for a fun older camera

Does anyone have a recommendation for a cheaper alternative to the Lola camera? I do like the images for it but don't want to be ripped off unnecessarily lol.

@jocp1858 are ya looking for that exact pinhole looking image in particular and wanting a brand new camera? I'd recommend the "camp snap" camera. It's a bit cheaper and a way better product. Otherwise I'd always recommend just some low megapixel early 2000s digicams! Most can be found under 50 bucks. I have a few on my channel I've reviewed. I'm thinking like the Nikon coolpix or olympus Camide C-70 (or any of em but I'd say this one because it's closer in megapixels to the Lola). I hope this helps but I'd help ya dig around if you find any others you may want and have questions about!
