Your roots are darker because it's newer growth which has less damage. The middle of the shaft to the ends of your hair have a little more damage since you use a toning shampoo and repeatedly color it so naturally the roots pick up more pigment. I'm actually digging the hot roots tho!!! Also; purple fades to gray/silver on blonde hair because it neutralizes any green/yellow tones on the blonde creating a more white base. That's why it's best to just use a purple toner after bleach if you want silver! I've been a stylist for two years now and you learn a lot when you fuck up your own hair 😂

Don't bleach to white. ..lift to a really light cream color (think butter) and then tone it tone it tone it! blue based colors neutralize orange and purple or violet based colors neutralize yellow. if you bleach your hair to white it's gonna either melt off or you will have an insane amount of breakage over the next month's to come. you're better off using a color stripper and then toning if you're doing it at home. no shade toward anyone just don't want anyone to lose their hair :/ and put keratin treatments in your hair after you bleach!

I use this combo colors on my hair also on my bleached hair. Only I put a few drops of Olapex #1 in mixture to condition hair more. Your too cute

Your hair is beautiful. Also its super easy to bleech your OWN hair I bleech my own hair after almost 2 months each time. Its super easy and comes out perfect never falls out or breaks off... but i do recommend if anybody is going to bleach their hair at home you MUST use good hair care products. It's a little bit pricey but it's worth having your hair look nice and healthy

You mentioned using conditioner to dilute the color ,that is an excellent way to save money when you dilute the color. I buy a really cheap conditioner when diluting the color. I use a more expensive conditioner when I want to condition my hair.

I would use a protein filler if you want those other parts to take more color. It helps fill in the protein that the bleach and damage takes away

I love your hair! I bleached mine out. Watched your video and bought the purple rain. The dilutor and sterling. You said you we’re going to add some gray to the mixture. How much did you add? In relation to the purple....half that amount? I’m a cosmetologist too and like you left because of the rules and corporate “normal”. I colored my hair blue and purple and pink back I early 2000. Karoline1210aka orange is neutralized by blue and yellow is neutralized by yellow. There are a lot of toners or hair dyes that will help with brassy hair but if your hair is too orange you'll likely need to bleach it again to get it light enough to tone. Once you get your hair a really light blonde (should be around the color of the inside of a banana) you can tone it, I suggest Wella t14 unless you want your hair to be more silver in which case I suggest the t18. Hope that helps!

If you put Olaplex into the bleach it will help keep it from being damaged. It is supposed to be sold to Hairdressers only but you might be able to buy it from Amazon. Also , there are other brands out there that are lower in price. The only thing that I don't like about Amazon is that you might get a knockoff. Another scam that you have to watch out for is the selling of an item at an unbelievably low price and then the shipping will be outrageous. Let's say an item will sell for $1.00 but the shipping might be $100.00.

The color doesn't take so some places because you rub it in. The color can break down if it's rubbed/treated to harshly. You painted on the roots (more purple color) then rubbed the color between your hands at the end. It happens more if you add diluter/conditionaer, too

Lol, bleaching yourself isn't that insane. I just did my hair again. Had done a lvl 8/9 midshaft through ends and shadow root and now went platinum. Still debating on whether to go lavender because the canvas is there or to go ahead with what I had initially planned purple-blue-teal.... 🤔 probably will slap lavender on first just because I've missed it so much and it's been 7 years

your hair fades so fast because you only left the dye in from 10-20 mins. semi-perm dyes can be left in overnight with no damage and really soaks into the hair follicles, resulting in longer lasting color :)
