The undisputed best Worlds journey ever. I'm glad that I was able to watch the whole finals from the beginning to the end that day. The moment DRX marched into T1's base and took down the Nexus, I was shocked. At first, my thought was that DRX would have no chance against T1, based on their performance throughout the tournament. But, DRX defied all expectation and played the best League games of their lives. I still remember the moment when I heard CaptainFlowers' quote:" They have been doubted, they have been discounted, they have been dismissed. But D R X are your 2022 World Champions", I had goosebumps all over myself, and then I smiled, because I was happy for Deft, cause finally he got to achieve his dream after such a long time, and for me because I just witnessed history. Truly a lifetime experience. One of the best underdog story in esports.

Honestly, after the 10th baron's theft I kinda went to sleep saying "Yeah, T1 got this", imagine my surprise the next Day going into YT and seeing the most shocking reverse sweep in history. Good League of Legends. 🎉

@@notthisnow589 Well DRX won game 2 so no reverse sweep, but the throw in game 5 from T1 was pretty bad. Zeus was just outclassed all series as well, and they kept handing Kingen his priority picks including Aatrox. I'm no coach though, I'm sure they drafted the way they did for a reason, it just looks bad to the average viewer because we don't have that inside info.

I have never seen a moment in professional sports that has me teared up every single time I watch it as much as that last DRX march towards the Nexus in game 5. The sheer emotion and the voice-crack from the casters saying "THEY'RE GONNA WIN" is just something you can't even make up in fantasy tales. What DRX did here is in my opinion the greatest feat in esports history and nothing will ever come close to this masterpiece of a run and the masterpiece of the final matchup against the legendary T1. It's only a shame this team didn't get another chance to challenge the title...

Not gonna lie i teared up a bit hearing the coach say, I know the pressure weighed on them, so i just told them to go out and have fun. Ill take the responsibility. It shows he understands his players on an absolute personal, emotional, and mental level like no other. He absolutely trusts that his team is and can be the best and puts absolute faith in them and their experience and choices. Deft speaking up and saying bard after seeing the low mobility just shows his knowledge and experience with this game and Beryl is just an absolute ride or die GIGACHAD and was like F it LETS GOOOOOOOOO!!! 1% bard pick and he absolutely ruled the rift on that Champion! Its not just the 4th seed run from the lower bracket that makes this game so legendary its all the feats that the DRX players accomplished and all of the absolute jaw dropping performances they had that definitely makes it one for the record books and really difficult to top.

Yeah I think the craziest part is how perfectly it came together and how much each player stepped up when needed. All players that were dismissed or undervalued, and they just improved and improved each and every time they went on stage. Pyosik getting subbed in after that first group stage loss, zeka playing like 2013 faker in quarters and semis, kingens incredible aatrox performances for the entire final, Beryl's phenomenal heimerdinger and especially the ballsy bard pick in the biggest game of his career, and deft just being an absolute dependable rock the entire way through. You could not have written a more iconic, perfect Cinderella story.

@@MrIng03201 He actually played on Najin Black Sword, but yeah he's much better as a coach. He coached the ROX Tigers and then in NA for a long time with that 2017 TSM team. He's got a pretty legendary track record at this point.

Deft, the player that was one of the greatest from day1 of professional league of legends in Korea. He had to watch as his rival Faker won trophy after trophy. Even though he was just as talented and consistent as him all he ever felt at worlds was heart break after heart break. It seemed as if fate was cruel to Deft and he was bound to retire as one of the greatest players to not only have never win worlds, but to never even make it to finals. After a grueling qualifing bracket and almost not making it to worlds again he along side his DRX teammates went to represent Korea as the 4th LCK seed, in what we all thought would be his final year of his carrer. They would go on to beat the reigning MSI champs RNG in playoffs. Then they defeated the reigning worlds champs, EDG. Then they beat GENG, the team that dominated LCK that summer. And then they had to face the greatest team in the history of league of legends, T1. Lead by the greatest player in the history of the game, Faker. The man that Deft has always been standing in the shadow of. They were a superteam that looked more dominant than ever. It looked as if it was fated for Faker to win once again, as if he was the main character of league of legends. What chances did DRX have ? They might have just been lucky to overperform against EDG and GENG. What were the chances they could do it for a 3rd time ? And against that THIS T1 that had just completed a perfect split going 18-0. It seemed as if Deft was going to end his carrer in the shadow of Faker. The match starts. T1 win the first game in a deciding manner. It seems everyone expectations would be confirmed. And yet... DRX win game 2 Maybe they got lucky one more time. And indeed T1 would go on to win the next game. The score was 2-1 for T1. Faker was 1 game away from being forever immortalized as a 4 time world champion. Or so we thought as DRX would go on to decisively win game 4 and leave everyone shocked. Against everything and everyone, DRX have pushed the greatest dynasty in the history of lol to silver scrapes. Game 5 begins. In what is possibly the most tense game 5 in the history of worlds after several baron and drake steals from T1. DRX manage to hold on for the Elder Drake fight which they secure. T1 go for one last ditch attempt and double tp into DRX'S base to backdoor but Kingen and Zeka are there to defend and finish them off. It's over. DRX won, Deft won. After 9 long years, after playing for 5 different teams, after countless heart breaks... Deft was a world champion. And he achived it in the most incredible way possible. Leading DRX, which was considered one if the weakest teams coming into worlds, to the greatest worlds run, and greatest underdog story ever

Also dont forget that in the finals, it had been a 100% win rate on blue side for the first 4 games, but DRX won that final game from red side instead, as though they wanted to upset expectations one final time!

One element which has made this the greatest story in Esports history is that, not only because of the dramatic ending in the Finals but it was also the nearly 10 years in building up the background. I was privileged enough to be there at worlds finals in SF and it was possibly the single best ticket I've ever purchased for anything in my entire life. It's hard to overstate just how intense the arena was, hearing the crowd shift from T1 to DRX and back and forth, the live reaction from the casters and fans on the game 5 baron steal, everything was just amazing. It may be a frustrating, difficult game to play, but my god I have no words to adequately describe how I felt during those finals.

DRX 2022 was the best worlds story. DRX from 6th seed made 10 games b05 with KT and LSB just to qualify as LCK's 4th seed. Smashed playins and playoff stage. Had a crazy quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. They defied the 0.2% chance of winning worlds.

이 스토리는 정말 몇번을 봐도 질리지않는다 ㅋㅋ 흔히 말하는 정배 역배에서 tes전부터 해서 drx가 역배인 경기가 얼마나 많았는데 그걸 다 뚫고 심지어 5꽉 스토리도 저렇게 맛있게 할 수 있나 싶은 정도였음 ㅋㅋ 다전제 명경기가 정말 많지만 edg랑 티원전도 세트별로 스토리가 너무 많고, 특히 edg전 2셋 백도랑 티원전 구마유시 바루스는 역대급 명장면에 넣어도 부족함 없을 정도임

I am so proud of this team, and I’m glad to have been with them since the roster announcement of 22DRX and until the very end. This is both the greatest story at a worlds, and greatest overall worlds. My very close second pick moment is "This is for Kabum!!" of the 2014 worlds. Hearing Deft talk about himself as 2 personas, and treating himself like a machine is heartwarming, endearing, and kind of sad at the same time. After it's all is said and done, out of all the pros that played league of legends, I hope Deft finds happiness in his life after league. He really is such a nice guy.

Seems every time Worlds is in NA, it's always just an insane tournament. Between the games, the fan show out, and just the pure madness. I'm a T1 fan, but I wasn't mad DRX won, just sad that T1 lost. But DRX deserved every second of that victory, and they pulled off the impossible, kudos to them

Drx의 팬은 아니지만, 잊을 수 없는 여정이었어요. 작년 8월 입대하기 전 친구와 여행 중 drx가 두 번의 풀세트 접전으로 월즈에 진출했다는걸 소식을 듣고 재밌게 여겼던기억, 훈련소 입소 날 drx가 젠지를 압도하는 모습에 조금 소름돋았던 기억, 훈련소에서 코로나에 걸려 격리 중 drx가 그 t1을 상대로 설마했던 우승을 차지했다는 소식에 혼자 난리를 쳤던 기억이 생생해요. 너무 멋있었습니다. 22drx의 경기가 모두 끝나고 나서야 팬이 돼버린 이상한 상황이 됐습니다ㅋㅋㅋ 가끔 군대 선후임들과 롤을 하면 drx 아트록스 스킨만 쓰며 22drx를 추억하고 있네요

The best world final I could see, I felt very sad for T1 and happy for DRX at the same time since I was supporting both of them in their ways. (T1 as a fan and DRX by Deft and the overcoming of his team since they were top 6 and they played everything from the regional finals)

I doubted them every single step of the way. When they beat RNG in play-ins I thought, "surely not EDG". When they beat EDG I thought, "surely not GenG". When they beat GenG I thought, "surely not T1". I have been bested thrice in my beliefs, yet I thought that T1 then looked unbelievably strong that it was impossible, yet something was bugging me that maybe T1 doesn't bring it home. Watching it live and getting proven wrong one last time was surreal. Excuse the corniness, but it felt like Seirin beating Rakuzan made manifest. A modern heroes journey for Deft, redemption for Beryl, and a taste of super stardom for Kingen, Pyosik, and Zeka.
