The interesting part about this is that the pointdevice mode appears to be the canon route, kind of. Apparently, Eirin and Kaguya worked on a weapon against the Lunarian invasion, which is a medicine which allows people to see "chapters" into the future. This actually makes me wonder if you even would be forced to beat the pointdevice mode to get the true ending. Kaguya: "Seems the time has come for them to arrive." Eirin: "I made some medicine for just this occasion. Get Reisen to deliver this to the shrine maiden and her friends."

Animemaster11nf I don't think there's going to be "true" endings, but rather "alternate" endings like in TD except with modes. Zun always want to make endings worth the effort invested, and it wouldn't make sense for a somewhat easier mode to be more rewarding than the other.

Lord Hades Me too, I tried Easy for a while, still died a lot, but that may be because haven't played in a while. Tried normal, those darn black fairies on stage 3. I was trying out Pointdevice and had no bombs at that part and I just couldn't get through, those red arrows of bullets take up so much space, I wonder how Lunatic actually is.

I wouldn't call pointdevice casual mode, since despite the infinite restart, it has a lot of restriction (1 live only, which mean limited bomb supply, and minus 0.01 power per restart, so it can't be abused forever). But overall, I guess it is an easier mode, which is why Zun stepped up the difficulty of the game since this is the canon mode for plot reason.

honestly nothing is more annoying than the dark little circle when you're grazing bullets. it makes Doremy's final spell so much harder than it needs to be, since it makes the already dark bullets like five shades darker.

Safir OH DEAR GOD THAT!! it took me over 30 tries to capture that dam spell card in normal mode because i could barely see the bullet due to that dam dark circle, If anything the circle should be made of a lighter colour not darker.

I see LoLK (I will never get over from that acronym) as the FE:Awakening of Touhou. Since both introduced a casual-ish mode for newcomers to the series. Reading the first few paragraphs of that description made me laugh a lot.

Rashyboy05 In that sense, yes. But frankly Awakening is the Final Fantasy I of Fire Emblems. The love and care that went into crafting that game oozes from it. Awakening is one of the best, if not the best FE created, at least from a content and technical perspective. As much as I love Touhou, I doubt LoLK will live up to leave a legacy like that.

Rashyboy05 Actually, I retract what I said. Pointdevice IS NOT EASY MODE!!!! Is more akin to a practice mode so you can retry indefinitely an area you have trouble passing without much of a penalty. But is not easy mode for one simple reason: You don't regain resources you didn't have at the time of the checkpoint. Meaning if you enter checkpoint without bombs and have trouble passing that section without bombs, you might be stuck there for a while.

***** also, you lose power everytime you restart to a check point. I remember that I had 4.00 power on stage 2, then i got stuck. I saw my power down at 3.80 (I restarted 20 times)

I didn't even see this before, sub boxes are weird... This game is HARD. Ringo and her theme are pretty great. Her patterns are really tricky though. (Particularly her nonspells, but her spells are full of clipdeath too.) Also, yeah. Stage 3 is pretty CRAZY. Also...while many people say Doremy is a Musharna, I think she is a Darkrai. Her attacks are a nightmare... So...will you be doing a Lunatic run of this game? I'm guessing it'll be a case of SA where it is just too crazy.

Oh, raak. I had the same problem with the slow motion when I first tried the trial. You need to go in the configurations and disable DirectInput. It makes the game slow since you don't have a joypad and it runs the option for nothing. It worked for me. The game so far is a blast. A blast in hell, that is. It's tons of fun, but it's so darn difficult. I can't believe it honestly. Never did I have so much difficulty clearing three stages that much haha! In overall, it pleases me quite a bit. I cannot wait to see what's to come next.

***** The shitty part is, Normal mode is kind of really easy. No, seriously, like, compare the jump from Normal to Hard in DDC and LoLK. Seiran's nonspells are a fuckin' joke on Normal, but on Hard they're crazy (not to mention the midboss card exclusive to Hard/Lunatic). It's honestly kind of annoying, seeing as how I'll want to go back and play Normal mode (which has always been a medium between "2easy4me" and "srsmode", but then both DDC and LoLK have this really awkward difficulty jump that I don't want to play because it's kinda boring to me. That, or maybe I just got too good at Touhou Normal in general.

I think Reisen's bomb slightly increases her hitbox, so she loses it much faster on dense patterns with small bullets.

Reisen bombs seems growing your Hitbox, so if you use it you lose all the circles in a short time because you continu to avoid like you had the normal size and never clean more as some bullets. It's no so cheat, by comparaison with a master park which can clean the screen for a long time and barely pass a boss phase with one use.

I have a theory in naruto (actually, boruto). Naruto and Hinata's 3rd child will have the byakugan (because they forgot to put it in the first two) and he/she might discover the secrets of byakugan. He/she is a child of Naruto, after all. But, back to touhou, well it is obvious that ZUN is starting to harden things up again as people start getting used to his danmaku system, which back then was the rage.

BTW You might have noticed by now but Doremy 1st spell card during her boss fight works the same way as her 2nd spell card so both can be dodged the same way. I was struggling so hard on her 1st spell card on normal mode that once i realised how it's done i facepalmed so hard. Doremy first 2 spell cards during her boss fight become soooo easy once you realise how they are done it's ridiculous xD UPDATE: I had the briliant idea to try out Hard mode....with Sanae (homing snakes FTW) and it took me 417 retries...it would have took me less retries if i hadnt been so stubborn in trying to capture Doremy final spell card but after 87 attempts i just said screw it and just bombed her face off. Needless to say i have Doremy theme printed in my brain...qq
