90’s grunge was the death of rock and roll, in the 80’s there were fun songs, about women, sex, cars, ect. 90’s came along and we got depressing navel gazing crap about being a better man. That’s why 90’s rap took off because it was fun.

@@zedhiro6131 I agree 80’s rock (music and videos) were more fun, but it was also more contrived and cheesy imo, the majority of those bands were imaged to target and attract 15 year old girls. While grunge wasn’t as fun, it was more raw and real, it actually spoke the listener. And the songs in the 90’s were just better musically imo. And the (concerts) were actually more fun. 80’s concerts were shows that were more about lights and explosions. 90’s concerts were wild events you could go crazy at and release. I thought they were way more fun.

I was in college when this was a hit. Back then I thought it was music for young adolescents. Today, I really appreciate that strange riff Wes plays on a bass guitar (as a normal guitarist) that is half suited for a normal guitar and half suited for a bass guitar. Quite ingenious. It sounds very much like he got inspiration from Roger Waters when he plays in the beginning.
