More thoughts: 1. My Sweet Petunia is now promoting my glue bottle tip (in their Dec. 14, '23 video). It's nice to see that they found my tip to be a helpful way to increase the effectiveness of the tool. 2. This is a patent-pending tool, so don't assume a generic version will be coming out. Also, I do support her right to patent her tools. 3. The overall functions of the tool had earned my "Lolly Seal of Approval," however, I still find the price the most negative aspect of this tool. 4. A viewer has commented that Fabri-tac would not be a good fit for these bottles, as it is acetone-based and could erode the bottle. 5. Thinner (runnier) liquid glues are being reported as leaking out the tip, even when seated properly on the silicone pad. 6. My two friends who purchased this tool have reported to me that they received poor customer service; so much so that they say they will never do business with the company again. I have not had any issues myself. 7. Someone with very short fingers might also find using this a challenge. 8. In my video, I showed that I have had two of these Nuvo bottle tips break. I have just now (1/1/24) had one of THESE glue bottle tips break as well. Yes, I was super careful to make sure the tip was clear of glue when I capped it, but the fine tip is adhered to the needle in the cap and can't be removed even with pliers. 9. I have actually stopped using this tool. To find out oone of the many reasons why, you can visit this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnrKgHWGh9lmaJY in which I'm reviewing past tool reviews, and you can skip to 9:57 in the video.

Thank you so much for going further than anyone about ergonomics! Ergonomic for who? The glue press either puts my hand at an awkward angle (old minor injury at the base of the thumb just above the wrist), or stresses my arm above the elbow (humerus/shoulder issue). I wanted to like it. And now I’m wondering about cutting a tiny piece of silicone mat to insert at the base of my “upside down” glue holder I use by Make it by Marko. (No affiliation) Thanks!

@@bethjeans3780 I have seen KZbin videos where the presenter put a folded wet paper towel in the bottom of a glass to keep the glue from drying out. It would probably work in the glue holder, too.

I get cramps in my fingers which i thought was arthritis, but it's not, so I was excited to see this hoping that it would keel my fingers from cramping while squeezing the glue bottle. I'll have to give it a shot. But it is a bit pricey for me.

Thank you so much for allowing us to comment no matter what our opinions. I bought the glue press because of hand problems not knowing all the issues with MSP and encountered horrible customer service. But that aside I love how you explained the ergonomics of the glue press because I’ve been struggling to get used to it and couldn’t put my finger on it. It just feels too awkward to use for me, and it was so expensive I keep trying to use it. I have found that if I keep my old glue bottle filled it is easier to squeeze. I regret buying this monstrosity as all it does now is take up space on my craft desk. Thank you so much for your review.
@LollyPalooza

I'm sorry it didn't help, but like you said, not everyone's hand/wrist issues are the same. What helps one person won't help another. Keeping the glue bottle filled is a great idea. Don't forget to push your thumb against the weakest side of the bottle, as I showed at the end of the video. That will help as well (if you're using the Nuvo bottles). However, other bottles seem easier to squeeze overall.

I think you gave this product a fair review. I dont feel the need to purchase this, i would be wasting the Nuvo glue which i dont care for. Its too thick for me & i think it dries faster than other glues. Thats why we have choices. I have no trouble squeezing my glue bottle, which i keep upside down in a jar with a very damp paper towel in the bottom. No glue leaks, no clogging and glue is ready to use. No physical issues yet either as a senior crafter. 👍🏻 Thank you for sharing!

At $50+ Canadian this was an expensive tool. My hands really found it much easier when working on projects that require lots of glue, so in the end, it justified spending that much. Unfortunately, I’ve now lost my red silicone seal, leaving my press no where near as handy. I’ve requested being able to purchase a replacement seal but after not getting any reply to my two emails to the company, my local shop owner contacted Iliana to make this request on my behalf. Iliana’s reply was, “I do not sell any spare parts for the glue press.”

You aren't the only one who has requested replacements of a part. I would think they might recognize the need. So sorry that this expensive tool is useless to you now. Hopefully you will find something that can be used as a substitute for that pad.

This is probably the best, most thorough, objective and detailed review I've ever seen! FYI Fabritac is an acetone glue and will not work in the PGP - it will instantly clog. This is designed for PVA craft glue. Husband approved! LOL! I love it. Wild about your last tip - I won't give a spoiler but wow.

I've been skeptical from the beginning of an expensive "solution" to a "problem" I don' think really exists. Your very comprehensive review highlights a lot of issues I hadn't thought about. I hope people will have an opportunity to consider all these things before they make a purchase. PS For the issue of gluing complex shapes, I dab a cheap triangular makeup sponge in my glue and pounce that on the die cut over a surface I can wipe clean. It's quick and thorough.

Great tip! I do know that many crafters have an issue with weak or painful fingers, hands, and/or wrists, so I can see there are some people who benefit from this. It's not that everybody needs it, however.

I’ve had mine a couple of weeks now, but have been too busy to use it. Plan to make a card tomorrow so will use it then. I got mine from Maymay Made It and did not spend quite that much. I had a points discount and the shipping was less, so ended up paying $36.06. She did say in her review not to push as hard as you might think you need to until you get use to the feel of the pressure needed for your glue. I use Art Glitter glue and she said that needed lighter pressure than the Nuvo. My biggest reason for getting it was the frustration of the glue tip trying to harden while I was working on a project that I’d have to glue, then do something to the project, then glue. It was a pain to have to put the pin in each time I glued because with my old eyes it is not easy getting the pin in. I felt like I was spending more time putting the pin in and taking it out, than actually gluing. This should allow me to make an entire card and envelope or 3D project without having to put the pin in until I’m through. Thanks for the tip about the different pressure needed for the different sides.

Well having used my Glue Precision Press for about a month or so I would have to disagree with your statement about the price point. The reason I disagree is because this tool makes placing the glue onto my projects so easy and quickly. The steady even stream on glue goes on so effortlessly so for me it is a huge time saver especially when adding glue to long detail tiny pieces where it seemed the glue dried where I started by the time I got to the end because I struggled so long getting the glue out of the bottle. So less time and frustration plus the easy use equals well worth the price for me!
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 9 ай бұрын
There are two issues regarding the price of any product: are the value of the raw materials, labor, & manufacturing equal to the price, OR is the overall functionality worthy of the price. You are describing the functionality -- it meets your need and therefore is convenient. I also look at the materials put into this product and think unless they have used some material other than cheap plastic, the materials are not worth that cost. For instance, let's get basic and say I want a plastic tape dispenser. I do not expect to pay $25 for a tape dispenser, because I know the raw materials are not worth it. The price is artificially high for that tape dispenser. So my thinking regarding this particular tool is not based on my own valuation of the convenience of the tool (whether I "like" it), but on other factors.

Thanks for your thoughts, Lolly! I've been looking at getting one, but $70 plus shipping in Australia (and that's from an Aussie stockist) is a bit out of my price range! However, it's on my wishlist because of a metal plate in my right elbow- it would be handy as I can tire out from squeezing my glue bottles if I'm doing a lot of crafting. I enjoy watching your thorough reviews, they help a lot! Cheers!

I was curious about this, too. However, I won't buy anything from My Sweet Petunia. The stamp positioner is greatly overpriced, in my opinion, and the owner went after other stamp positioners with a vengeance. Wait until someone else tries to introduce a glue press and see what happens.

You'll note that I added a disclaimer in the beginning that this is my first product from MSP. :) I agree about the stamp positioner price. Yep..I think MSP went way overboard in suing so many. I wouldn't mind having this, but the price is on the high side since I don't really HAVE to have it. Maybe a regular glue gun maker brand could develop a fine tip glue gun, using white glue sticks and that also has an improved trigger that makes it easier for people with hand arthritis. I don't think they could be sued by MSP bc since the glue gun already exists and this would only be an improvement?
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 9 ай бұрын
@@nancyloomis3046 But I wouldn't use a hot glue gun for paper crafts. Even a white glue type glue stick. It would be an entirely different type of glue than liquid glue.

I have this glue press and would not recommend putting any glue that contains acetone like Fabritac or Helmar 45. Both of these glues contain acetone. The bottles that come with the Glue Press are not the same type of plastic as the bottles that Fabritac and Helmar 45 are sold in. The acetone alone will break down the bottles included with the glue press. To say nothing about the viscosity of the aforementioned glues. They are too thick for either of those tips. I currently am using the following glues and tips: Gina K - fine tip Bearly Arts - fine tip Nuvo - fine tip Tombow Aqua - big tip Tombow Mono - big tip Honeybee Stamps - fine tip Lawn Fawn - fine tip

I finally bought the press last week. I have a hard time getting the last of the glue out of a bottle so I switched the full bottle that came with the press for my 2/3 empty bottle. It is hard to squeeze but coming out more easily than using just fingers and thumb. (I have to go see which side of the bottle is against the lever.) I’ll be curios to see if I can empty the bottle using the press. Regarding the price-you get a full bottle of great glue ($6.00?) and a set of precision nozzles which retail for $7 alone. I jumped on a coupon that I spotted to get the press so that helps. Thanks for the great revue.

It's not so much that we "have to" fill another bottle, but that (I think) she was just giving us the option of what we want in that other bottle. Either way, the entire kit could have been greatly reduced by simply including empty round bottles and making the glue press that shape.

Hi Lolly, I don’t know why I never saw this video ages ago. I first saw it being used on Queen and Co for their shaker cards as there’s a fine tip which is good for going around the outlines of the acetate and foam. I ordered it immediately. I picked it up when I got to the US. I should have ordered more glue as I will be using a lot when it comes time for a craft fair. I’m sure they will come out with a bigger one to hold much more glue for larger projects. I’m very glad I’ve seen your video all such very helpful tips. Does that larger bottle fit in the machine? Also, I’ve just watched your Namta videos which I love. I make notes on all the new products and can’t wait to order them. My dream is to one day be there and make friends with such lovely people as yourself who are so helpful when educating crafters with such brilliant ideas. I should have made friends with someone last year when they were in Ohio as my sister is in Ohio. Thank you, thank you so very much much. Anita

Thank you once again for an awesome review!! I've been thinking of getting one because the arthritis in my fingers has been getting worse and sometimes my fingers lock when I'm doing something repetitive, don't remember what's this called. I usually apply glue with the paper above the table so this would work ok for me. I was wondering if the fabri tac would work in one of these bottles too, I just emptied a nuvo glue bottle so think I'm going to wash it out and give it a try!! Then this tool would be awesome if it works!!! Thanks again!! 🥰

I have more issues with my wrists than my hands when I craft and the particular bottle of glue that I use hasn't given me any issues. (I am "older" and some things do stress my hands, just not the glue that I use.) I think this would cause more of a wrist issue for me. I did see a crafter I watch often use this for the first time and she didn't seat the bottle properly when she returned it to the holder. Well, you guessed it - instant clog. I do think the price point is absolutely ridiculous. Love your reviews though.

Great review! I'm not a big fan of liquid glue. I use double sided tape or a tape runner for 99% of my glue'ing, but I was curious about this item. I'm interested in what happens once the glue bottle is past the 3/4 full mark. Will the press have enough pressure to squeeze the glue out until the bottle is empty.
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 9 ай бұрын
Yes, it will, if as I mentioned, you let the air back into the bottle. Tape runners are convenient, but they don't have the permanency that liquid glue has. If you're making a project that needs to stay together for several years, such as a book cover, journal cover, or even a card that you want to last, you'll need to switch to liquid. For example, a friend made me an incredibly detailed lovely wall hanging with dozens of paper pieces which she used a tape runner on. I framed it in a shadowbox. About six years later, the images fell apart and were resting in the bottom of the shadow box.

What about the space it takes up on your table some people do not have much space and when you put the cover on now it doesnt fit in holder so now you have 2 things taking up space. @LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 9 ай бұрын
I'm not quite sure what you're asking. I did address whether it's easy to hold (hand positions), whether it's heavy, whether it's hard to squeeze, the angles you have to hold your hand to use it, so is there another factor I can research for you? The hand position is probably the most difficult aspect of using this.

Didn't even know this existed. I actually really like nuvo glue so at least it's a good glue it fits it. I think one of those tall narrower round bottles might fit this too. I'm a glue junky so I have many different kinds. It's too bad they had to make it nuvo specific because refilling glue bottles is a tedious pain but some glues come in that big Elmer's shape that's just too bulky to deal with so mostly what I do is transfer those into a narrow round bottles but that fine tip pin is such a pain any way you slice it. Maybe I'll make my own upside down holder that has the silicone pad. I'm thinking to make one with my glue gun. I made a glue gun phone holder easel so I know that would be doable. The squeeze mechanism doesn't really matter to me because my hands don't have any problems thankfully. Thanks for the great review!

Yes, but squeezing the glue bottle itself, over and over on my project is also a repetitive movement. We just need to figure out which repetitive movement is least harmful for us. That said, if I had worse hand issues than I do, and I was not going to use this Glue Press, I would not use the Nuvo glue bottle itself. It really is a tough bottle to squeeze. I would dump the glue into an easier-squeeze bottle.

Yes, it took me quite awhile to order this. I recognize that the price for a piece of plastic is high, which is why I suggested she could have not had us also pay for a bottle of glue on top of that. However, I also suspect that she needed a specific glue consistency. I hear that if you use a more runny glue, the results are not the same. Pricing is also why I never bought her other tool.
