I know this is an older vid but do you remove the baffles or plug them to keep the media out?

These covers had no baffles in them so I just plugged the holes on top and blasted them

I have a Gema also what setting are you running on your first coats and also for your second coat, I’ve been having issues laying down my second coat

I run the factory presets for most of my parts and adjust powder cloud and air accordingly.

What blasting media did you use for these? On the valve covers did you tape up the baffles to keep media out?

I use green diamond and these covers do not have baffles.

@@royalcoatspowdercoating interesting. My 5.3 valve covers definitely have baffles spot welded on the underside. I'd be worried about media getting stuck in them and ended up running through the bearings. Just asking because my 5.3 valve covers and timing cover are probably going to be my first real powder coat job

@@Gear_head11 you can either tape it off really well with duct tape or some guys also stick modeling clay in the cracks to seal it off. Blow off really well afterwards.
