This is exactly how it feels when I'm watching an old relative fight with technology. Windows is so simultaneously user friendly and unfriendly, it ends up looking like a weird love-hate relationship except the more senile or un-techy, the relative is, the more toxic it looks. Then I have to step in and resolve the issues. Anyways, anyone else just enjoying the fact Linux can update itself down to the kernel without turning the device off? :)

@@OGuiBlindao Bit of a late reply, but yes. Arch gets it more often, but Deb does too. Just your average "Pacman -Syu" or "Sudo Apt Upgrade" is enough It just downloads a 1gb or so pre-compiled binary, uses some system tools like mkinitcpio and dkms to re-compile a boot image, and lets you continue on your merry day. It's just a bulky file, some additional drivers that get auto installed, and a preconfigured boot option which points to it. It's basically no less demanding than installing a web browser. Only restarts you need is once, and just to actually load the new kernel that's just been successfully installed because of course, it can't really hotswitch the entire kernel on the RAM; that's basically what a reboot's purpose should be.
