This is such a sick manoeuvre! I learned about it in the patch notes update in Steam for the devs progress on the MB-339, and it said that it was the only jet aircraft that can perform this. So I searched it up, and it just makes me smile seeing it flow like that

I didn't think I jet could do that. It would be so cool to see it. Alas, I can't get the DCS version of the Christen Eagle to do it anymore: they changed the flight dynamics. :(

@@randallmacdonald4851 ach, that is unfortunate. Do you know if there are any other aircraft in the game that can do it? Perhaps some warbirds?

@@Siduch. I'm going to try in DCS's Yak 52. I know in real life, the Yak can perform a Lomcevak but DCS might have limited it's flight dynamics just like the Christen Eagle. We'll see. If I can get anything to do it, I'll post a video of it.

@@ap0Gsound So, YUP! It definitely can do it. The Lomcevak is such an impressive maneuver to see from a distance but hard to keep your head on straight actually DOing it! :)

I found this video after hearing about a test pilot doing this maneuver in WW2 with various combat aircraft. Now my imagination is going mad with images of a guy flying into an enemy formations center and doing this with all guns blazing. In actuality he was probably a test pilot in the war writing spin recovery manuals.

The one thing you DON'T want to do in a dog fight or any other aerial attack is get rid of your energy. This maneuver bleeds all of your energy off to zero. But, it's a nice idea until you use it. :)

Of course, the real trick is remembering where the ground was the last time you saw it.

In the tumble, the trick is to throw youself at the ground after two seconds... and miss.

@@randallmacdonald4851 The last time I missed the ground was when I flared my T-Crate 12" too high. But that's okay, the ground jumped up to catch me.

This was done 5 years ago in DCS World, a military-grade flight simulator. Most aircraft are study level in flight dynamics, instrumentation, and weapons usage. When I flew this Cristen Eagle, it had a great flight dynamic code. They, unfortunately, changed it so that Lomcevak's tricks are difficult to do, if not completely impossible. DCS was not really set up to do civilian flights. I have FS2020 and I don't think they can do Lomcevak tricks, either. But, I haven't tried. DCS World basic is free (Caucasus map, P-51 with no guns, and a Russian A2G jet that I don't fly.) More aircraft and maps are payware but, well, I fly the F-18 Hornet and I've been studying it for over 3 years. DCS is that good. Link: www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/index.php

Woow! Excellent, my friend! Can you tell me which joystick and pedal commands you use to perform the maneuver?

Climb to vertical, slight aileron left, slight nose pull, hard aileron right, nose full forward, hard left rudder, full power all the way.
