His revolver is closest to a Colt Anaconda .45, if you want to look it up. Six-o'clock firing, check. About the same model? Check.

This is a real thing! It was designed to reduce "muzzle flip" (meaning how much the barrel rises after firing). It never really caught on, but a couple guns (namely the Chiappa Rhino and the Mateba Unica 6) were made using that design concept.
