As usual, you take me to places to which I've never been and then I want to visit them.

Thank you, Graham; route learning wouldn't present a challenge on this one. Do you know whether TfL has ever considered removing the white stops, as all routes are now omo? Most drivers appear to treat both white & red equally, with good reason in these environmentally conscious times. Is there an official policy?

Hello Alf - I do not think that Tfl have any plans re red and white stops. Any driver will say that if they served all the white stops, they would be late.

@@Graham_Ross Thanks, Graham, for your reply. I agree with drivers treating white stops as red to stay on time & for environmental reasons. However, by retaining 'compulsory' stops, TfL is hanging the driver out to dry if there's a problem. Even 'back in the day', conductors would ring us through white stops with 'three bells', but we'd be 'chatted' by a DMI if caught. It's far from an ideal world out there!

@@atinshed I don't think tfl drivers are required to stop at white stops when there are no passengers getting on or off anymore and for good reason (unless they are very early). In fact many request stops are being replaced with white stops now so I think that will soon be the standard bus stop colour in London.

@@nathanw9770 Thanks, Someguy; making all of the stops 'white' & treating them as 'request' would make sense. A recent video that I watched appeared to have a preponderance of white stops, so that may have been a route that's been 'modernised'.
