It’s not actually banter at this point. Spurs need to do what United have done recently against Southampton and Fulham and scrap wins, no matter how ugly, to just get away from the relegation zone. Will they get relegated? Very likely not. But if they don’t actually start winning games ASAP they are allowing not only Everton the chance to leapfrog them and go into 16th. But they are allowing Ipswich, Wolves, and Leicester the opportunity to get far too close to them to start making it very uncomfortable very quickly.

I think the whole Ange is responsible for the injuries is a bit overstated. While he is not blameless there is question mark over Romero and VDV against Chelsea. The club did an internal investigation on the injury crisis at the beginning of January. The result of this is that head of the medical department was sacked and now Tottenham is looking to hire a new medical team. If it was conclusive that Ange is the primary person to blame for the injury crisis do you really think Levy would tolerate a manager damaging “assets” in the team. Is the unprecedented tolerance of Ange not being sacked despite the poor results especially considering Levy trigger happy background is due to the board accepting it is a mitigating circumstances due to injury. Yeah Ange had injury issues in previous club but it was always manageable and the extent here is unprecedented in his career.
