I began completely rebuilding my wardrobe a little over a year ago (basically from scratch) and I look back at some of the stuff I was wearing when I just got into it and think of how boring and basic it was. But back then I was absolutely loving all of my outfits cuz it was such a big step-up from what I'd been wearing before. The curse of getting really into fashion is that your standards are inevitably going to increase continually as you gather more and more and sometimes you've just gotta step back a bit and contemplate what you've already got to kinda reset this mindset of constantly wanting more and more

two things! 1. the chocolate story made me laugh so hard, "it's a problem for the 18th of December". that is a GREAT addiction 😂😂 2. that interlude with Deon is 100% facts. i think i have a couple of different styles (literally, like three). i was in London today, in a fit made with items i personally adore, and as soon as i saw other people in this other style, my brain immediately started making me wish i'd worn clothes of THAT style instead, or making me want to upgrade my own items etc. it's so toxic, and it's all literally in our heads! we deffo need to consistently make an effort to affirm self-appreciation and contextualising to ourselves i think. it's great to hear you articulate a thought that was so fresh in my mind here. enjoy the coming week Daniel! ps: love the new people in london bit btw.

Completely agree with your segment about "losing your love" for your wardrobe. I, too, often feel like I don't enjoy wearing a lot of my clothes as much as I used to and get too attached/over-wear new pieces that I recently pick up. But I think there's also something super cool this phenomenon too because if I haven't worn something that I used to love wearing for a really long time, I'll kind of forget about it and then one day I'll see it in my closet and fall in love with it all over again!
