A DLR station was left underwater as flash floods hit London.
The capital was battered by thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon, with disruption to transport around the city.
There have also been reports of a major incident being declared at London hospitals due to flooding at Newham and Whipps Cross.
This morning, walk-ins are being accepted at Newham - although patients are urged to go elsewhere, it's reported.
Good Morning Britain correspondent Nitya Rajan told the show: "They had a bench across the doors or the A&E, obviously to restrict access.
"They are accepting walk-ins but they're urging people to go to neighbouring hospitals to get treatment if they can."
The emergency department and maternity ward at Whipps Cross Hospital are also said to be affected, with extra staff being called in and ambulances being redirected.
A video shared on social media shows a bus stuck in a flooded street and residents coming to the rescue to help passengers get off safely.
Locals used a small inflatable boat and covered their legs with bin bags to protect themselves as they helped people off the bus in Hackney Wick, East London.
In the clip, two men can be seen moving the dinghy around with bus passengers on it as others cheer from the footpath.
At some point, the men also pick up some of the passengers and hold them in their arms to move them away from the flooded road.
Another clip shows Pudding Mill Lane DLR Station completely flooded, with water moving quickly as a passenger stands on the stairs.

In my opinion , most of the flooding problems in London recently have happened because the Local Authorities have not been cleaning out or flushing though the drainage systems ! It’s the same old , out of sight ( underground ) , out of mind . Insurance Co’s need to go after the LA’s for their failure to maintain ‘ their’ drainage systems. It is after all their responsibility . We pay them to do this . So in effect the LA’s are taking our ‘ rates ‘ and are not doing their job ! Yet again that’s is ! 🤬😤🤬

Yeah but they like to take your money and spend it on totally pointless things. I know one Council needed a new HR system. Why spend a 100k when you can have a banking system which cost over 5 million and offers nothing for their needs apart from sounding good and expensive 3rd party support.

@Derek Swinton the roding over flowing is nothing new. The football pitch by the flats on Chigwell road has flooded hundreds of times from poor drainage which backs up onto Charlie brown's roundabout which causes back ups from Woodford through to Leyton. 18 months of no maintenance causes silt build up logs an branches causes damming, minor ditches and streams all full of fallen trees branches and dirt reducing run off flow.

@kevanchippindall-higgin1859 3 жыл бұрын
The cost of the Royal Family is tiny when broken down on a per taxpayer basis and is money very well spent. London does have a modern sewage system. A whole new backbone was built from west to east a few years ago. What cannot be foreseen is immense rainfall in a small time period. This happened in the mid 60s with the same low lying areas getting flooded. Of course, almost doubling the city's population in the last 30 years has not helped, both by concreting over ground that could soak up rain and contributing twice as much into the sewage system. It cannot be that bad because there have been no call outs down here, only 70 miles away, for 4x4 and emergency radio response. I would only go with written confirmation of not being made to pay the various charges, which are unlikely be forthcoming. Sadiq can therefore do it all on his own. Good luck.

Our money is spent in way worse things than the royal family. In 10 years Mp's seen a raise in their salary of 15k the total is 80k per year. Most people need to work 7 years to see that kind of money. Some of the Mp's are also ministers and get paid way more and that's just the basic salary 😂 they also have most expenses paid for including house 😂😂 can't you afford a house on 80k a year?😂 And i could say a lot more just don't feel like typing also it gives me depression 😂 They way I see it, it's a circus and we pay for the show 😂

i work for a local council office. Thanks for paying the extra on your council tax. I just got a good pay rise and my boss just got her 2nd range rover. Without you paying your council tax we wouuld not be able to do it. Thank you so much for your generousity.

Will enough drain maintenance ever be done in London? One thing that might help reduce flooding to some degree is by planting more things in our gardens and green spaces. Certain types of hedges are good at absorbing lots of water in addition to soaking up air pollution and reducing noise pollution.

There is no mother! There is ONE MIGHTY and ALMIGHTY GOD, the Creator of heaven and earth and all that fills them. HIS wrath is coming ... Isaiah chapter 24 in THE HOLY BIBLE + Exodus chapter 20 + Gospel of John chapter 3 JESUS CHRIST will be back soon! Turn to GOD, invoke HIM, because ONLY HE can save you and give you protection against what is coming into this world. The earth is cursed under its inhabitants because they have defiled GOD'S LAW. Please read the BIBLE, confess your sins to GOD, turn away from them, from all churches, religions and worship GOD in SPIRIT and TRUTH, because GOD IS THE SPIRIT and does not live in any buildings built by human hands. May GOD be with you.
