much love to you and the family. "Colourful jacket" comment seemed a bit sneery but it was great to see one normal farmer on the telly. The focus seems to be on making farmers seem wealthy and out of touch rather than hard-working and just getting by in order to provide the nation with food.

One must remember a working farm and farming family don’t get to realise the value of the farm because it’s in place for the next generation of family members. If at the end of 60yrs farming and there’s no family to take the burden on then yes charge the inheritance tax
@billabong9215Ай бұрын
There's very few family chains in Ireland that long after the..... ahem, colonisation thingy but having that lineage on the same farms is very special. Our farms and lands were fragmented many generations ago and once a farm is sold, which happens very seldom. Its gone, there's a greater possibility your kids will be astronauts than buying back a family farm.

It's a shame more people have not seen you in this TV clip. The poorly informed, who have their mind set on that all farms are the cartoon 1900s gentleman estate farm, don't see past the media's obsession with Jermay Clarkson.

Can we talk about the real reason that they are going farmers, you know the 2030 agenda which has been put in place a long time ago. Can we have a talk about the nano-tech that is in and used for geoengineering not only the weather but also us and is the Jabs and why they are there??. There is also over 2000 foods with nano-tech in them. Can I suggest to search for a lady called Sabrina Wallace and she teaches about the advancements in this tech with the use of many documents, Government and otherwise as well as teaches these agendas of Governments and what the real smart cities look like. All signed off to be implemented a long time ago.

The whole point is APR (& BPR) is to enable family businesses to be handed down the family. Re our farms, the 1 Million limit Gov has set Will only apply to a tiny number of v v small farms, small-holdings & ‘hobby farms’. For a farm to be profitable - and to produce enough to feed us - it has to have enough land to be worth 3 Million+ The small family farms know & care for their stock (as opposed to ‘factory farming’ with huge numbers) Note most farmers only earn net 25-35k p.a. We have the highest welfare for our livestock, which means: Nicer life for the animals Healthier for them (& us) Meat/poultry from abroad isn’t often in such good living conditions & isn’t as healthy for us (more use of antibiotics due to cramped conditions in factory farms).

Funny how these people think they're above everyone else. Wish I had to worry about paying tax on my newly acquired gift of a multi million pound asset. I've had to unsubscribe from so many entitled farmers on YT over this, it's just too grating to hear the whining.

Don't know why he's so upset his farm is small and he'll be under the threshold also I assume his brother who works on the farm will have to get a fair share ,having personally gone through this with a bereavement our farm which is bigger than his I think the valuation is usually on the lower side and if he's that bothered you could make Harry a full partner when he's 18 his wife is a solicitor she could get it all sorted as farmer myself I think a lot of this hysteria is un founded Richard has got plenty of time to sort out handing over the farm it's the poor buggers that have 80 year old dad still in charge and the son pushing 60 that are going to have problems
@kieranosullivan02Ай бұрын
They're not that small just old school ways. 100 acres at 10k an acre is 1 million straight away. It depends how and what they include within the threshold
@petrokemikalАй бұрын
Mate you clearly havint a clew do ya... Like not even remotely close... ... He easily sails past the threshold to be exempt from the tax, let me educate you, because clearly you think somehow you know what your talking about here..thats his house, all his land, all his farm equipment and all his farm buildings..What makes you think thats not worth easily over a million quid ? lol.... That is the very reason it will affect so many farmers... Everybody who owns a farm,equipment, land and a house could have it all valued over a million quid... My god Man.. Wake up..
@willmoore3790Ай бұрын
@@petrokemikal the devil is in t the detail it will be up to around 3 million before they get clobbered for inheritance tax and as I said if you bothered to read my full post with a bit of forward planning it could be avoided granted if the government made that clear when the budget was done it wouldn't cause the uproar it has but I think Richard has bigger problems with having to pay out family members than just inheritance tax
