Loving the audio - works so well. Very chill - and what a beautiful day that must’ve been. Never has a trip through the Severn tunnel seemed so ethereal!

The Severn tunnel is the spookiest, imagine walking through that in the middle of the night!! 😱😫

Interesting and unique ride to see the GWML from the rear. Electrification should continue to Swansea, Bristol Temple Meads, Oxford and to Taunton from Newbury.

The class 800 is going at 125 mph\201 kph

Then how comes that the electrification suddenly stopped at Cardiff Central. At least GWR Class 800 and Class 802 can go to Cardiff City fully electric and change to diesel mode at Cardiff Central to continue to Swansea. Plus nice lovely music as well.

if memory serves there was a project to do so. my best guess is it has been scrapped, as the catenary equipment exists to some extent down the line, up to the Pencoed area that the M4 passes over, however it is non-existent around Port Talbot and there has been no change in that state over 2-3 years. why it was scrapped i wouldnt know

Very nice ride to Cardiff central

Thanks for sharing. The line passes through some beautiful country. The electrification must be a contender for one of the ugliest wiring schemes in the world. The trains suspension is a bit rough riding as well.
@iman23413 жыл бұрын
Gotta agree on the wiring. I cannot understand why it’s so heavy duty. No wonder it cost so much being that over engineered.

The electrification looks weird, I much prefer the ones on the west coast main line
@gabrielstravels3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, as much as I'm happy that the GWML is finally electrified, I would have preferred headspan ECML-style electrification in scenic sections such as between Reading and Didcot Parkway.

It’s to future proof the OHLE as time goes on. They’ve realised that by spending less initial costs on thinner OHLE creates higher maintenance costs, so they went all out with the GWML to keep maintaining costs low.
@starruler19222 жыл бұрын
All so its because the electrification is 140 mph ready thats why it looks the way that its dose.

Can you do front facing some time, the music makes it better imo,, do you know the artist song name?
@BernieHollandMusic3 жыл бұрын
The music is crap - it would have been better to hear a commentary - with idents for locations etc - all we get isn an interminable backwards procession of catenary masts - sorry, no offence intended but I couldn't sit through all of this for two hours - I've got better things to do with my time
